    Deleting Mechanical Fuel Pump

A direct bolt on 4 barrel intake for the 3.8 is the one off of the 4.1 buick, that is if you can find it. The edlebrock intake makes no more power than than the stock one UNLESS you use the edlebrock "power package" with it. Whatever intake you use, you must limit the how much the secondaries...

Odd issue with V6 not starting/dying.

The biggest problem with carbs is lack of maintenance. All carbs, no matter which brand, need periodic cleaning, lubing of linkages, and snugging up of screws and bolts. Like bonnewagon said dirt will cause a problem. In a carb, even a couple grains of sand will cause havoc. That being said, it...

someone plz help backfire threw carb

If it started and ran fine the last time you ran it and the distributor has never been out you may want to check that it hasn't jumped time and/or the quality of the old fuel that's in it. good luck.

    3800 seriesII swap into gbody

Easiest way to put 3800 in a g-body is to use the engine and trans out of 97-02 f-body. already set up for rear wheel drive. if you use front drive engine, weather a series I, II or III there are a few major points to consider. the major one is probably the trans. while the front drive engines...

    Lt1 84 Cutlass

Spectra brand replacement fuel tanks for Grand Nationals are the only ones with the correct, factory style baffling. At least they used to. Been a few years sunce had to buy one for my GN. All other brand tanks I've seen only have what looks like a "pie tin" spot welded to bottom of tank.

    blower motor confusion

red wire should have battery voltage to it at all times. in high speed position purple wire coming out of relay should have battery voltage. clicking relay does not make it good as contact inside relay could be bad/ corroded. voltage measurements should be taken at relay connector.

    Cutlass 1980 From France !!!

my guess would be you tightened the control arms down without the car being at load condition. in other words, bushing mount points are not to be tightened down unless the vehicle is sitting on the tires with all of it's components installed.

    Why? Why? Why?

There's an old hot rodder saying..."Horsepower sells engines but torque wins races".

    AHH!!OVERHEATING!!! PICS!!

More than likely you have a bad temp sending unit(for the gauge) AND a bad fan temp switch. If it where an air lock problem temp gauge would read cold all the time as ALL temp gauge sending units are not capable of reading an internal engine air temp and can ONLY read a liquid temp that acts on...

    Fuel line Heat echxanger

back in the mid 1980's Smokey Yunick experimented with what he called a fuel homonigizer. I don't re-call the specifics but I do remember the use of a turbo, not to boost engine pressure but used to super heat the fuel to an almost vapor like form. I remember a mid 80's fiero 4 cylinder as a...

    is this fixable?

if just the stalk itself is broke it will pull out by grabbing with a pair of pliers as the stalk just snaps into the dimmer switch mechanism. unfortunately it looks like the wiring for the wipers/cruise control has been cut. you will need to remove the steering wheel and the turn signal cam...
