Which was my exact point in my original post. I may travel down that road again as I can't seem to find any S-10's or Rangers at decent prices. There is an Elky and an '80 Monte Carlo that I am eyeing. I can only see this leading to tears

I think a good place to start mods to any engine is the exhaust. Especially with the older sbc and bbc engines with their log manifolds. Then afterwards, you start matching engine components to work with your plan for that car/truck. All in all, good/fun stuff :D

I used to think like that myself. I loved driving my Malibu on a daily basis. Over the years however, it was hit four times.......(3) while parked and once while driving. The first time was during class. I came out to find my car taking up two parking spaces when I clearly remembered parking...
I forgot to mention the Doug Thorley Tri-Y's that I had on the Malibu. They were only mid-length headers, but they ran really nice with the 305 sbc. The install wasn't so bad either. I did everything backwards though. I did the exhaust two years prior to installing the headers. So fitting...
I've done two sets of LT headers. One for my 292 I6 in my '81 C-20 and the other in my (now defunct) '73 F-350. The 292 install was good; I just had to figure out how to route the piping through the crossmember. With the F-350 on the other hand, I had to raise the engine and trans to clear...
I used to drive my Malibu daily; especially during college. I had that car from '96-'07. Then I sold it for a Ford Ranger. I came to the conclusion that I would never drive a car daily that I loved; well at least not in this state. When I got the Ranger, it was such a relief to commute to...
Oh, so that's how they get them to work in those cars. I wonder if somebody has done that swap to a Corvair?
In any event, I will search for an older LS from a Silverado (LQ4) or a Caddy Escalade(LQ9). A lot of research to do, in such a short period of time.

What year Monte Carlo? I saw an '03 (I think it was) with an LS engine a while back. If I get the Elky, I'll get a good look underneath to see how it's vented.
Yeah, I think the Lokar pedal assembly is called the Eliminator or something like that. I don't know too much about the throttle...
Yeah, I sorta remember Street and Performance having some expensive stuff. I will look on E-Bay as well like you suggested. I would modify a harness myself, but I am just not too inclined to do so at the moment.
Hmmm......how would the Airtex fuel pump for an EFI Typhoon/Syclone work with a...
As the subject line says. I am contemplating this swap. My car/truck search turned up only a few prospects, including the El Camino. I have to go back to the dealership and see if they're selling it. It's stuffed in the back of the building with some other cars that I guess are not...
Yes. Do not go home.........unless you already live in the hood. I had a friend that did that. A couple punks followed him from one side of the state to the other. He parked his Velle at a friend's place and hung out with him on the porch until the would-be thieves drove away. They came...
Yeah, if a thief wants your car, it will be taken. One thought comes to mind. Be vigilant when you're driving. Always be on the look-out for people following you. Know who drives what in your neighborhood. That way you can spot an "out-of-place" vehicle. That's my 2-cents.

Well, the girl I sold the Malibu to lost her license. The car sat in the back of a gas station until late '10 and then it was sent to the crusher  . I just hope they salvaged some of the good parts off of it before crushing it.
I started the '67 up back in Fall of '10. I had to soak the...
Holy crap it's been a while!!! Still got the S-10. I found out a couple years back that it had a lot of rust underneath. A couple of the body mounts had rotted off (source of a loud creeking noise) and the others aren't too far from that. A few of the bed mounts had given way too, so it...
