Dropped pan, changed filter and o rings on pickup tube. Problem solved. No more whinning. Goes right into gear no hesitation. Haven't been able to drive yet. Still have to come up w solution for column shift lilacs hitting header.

Anyone ever use one of those lokar column shift cable kits on their gbody? How easy of install was it? I know ididit has a kit also?

reseated tc again. Also put washers between flyweel and tc to close gap. Didnt make a difference still have whine. :cry: Also transmission line dont seem to be heating up... dont think have to much pressure from the pump.

Put quart fluid in t c before installation. Going to to change filter to mesh one. Someone said filter could Be restricting flow to pump. Other then that im stumped...

yeah it clicked twice. and bolted to motor with no pressure...

I just put a th400 in my monte. When i started it for the first time the trans has a whinning sound coming from the front. The higher you rev the louder it gets. New b+m torque converter. The guy I bought trans from said it was rebuilt. Looked clean inside. I have new fluid and its at the right...

Thats only option?

Is there anyplace that sells a clutch pack to rebuild the 8.5 rear? If so what the part #.

I just swapped in a th400 into my 1985 monte with column shift. It was originally a metric trans. I am having trouble connecting the column shift linkage to trans..... the lever on the trans doesnt lineup/mount to the th400. Is the lever differnt for th400 and metric trans? what would be the...

I have an opportunity to buy a 1978 lemans with factory bucket seats floor shift and a chevy 305 from the factory. The car has 56,000 original miles and is in excellent cond, being garaged for most of its life. Do you think $3000 is a fair price for it?
