Original rear light function (from a Euro car...)

That sounds like an excellent tip! Never heard of switchback leds before, but I see now how useful they are.

Original rear light function (from a Euro car...)

Thank you so much! Great answer, and just what I needed.

Original rear light function (from a Euro car...)

I'm going to use the US lenses. That's what is on the car. I need to redo all the wiring cause it's all rotten and falling apart. So, I can just copy what they did, no problem, and have the b/u lights as turn signals (with orange bulb) and presto - EURO approved. So no, we don't need EURO...

Original rear light function (from a Euro car...)

First, sorry for what is going to be a very basic question, but I've hit a wall with this - and the 79 Service Manual does not show wagon specific rear wiring, so I'm doubting my own reasoning here. What is the original US light function for all four bulbs at each rear light? The white is B/U...

    Liftgate hinge refurbish

Thanks for the input. It looks like there is a sliver of what used to be bushing material when I look closer. So a brass tube would be good solution. When driving the pins back in - how to they lock in place? Just by friction, or will it need peening?

    Liftgate hinge refurbish

I managed to scrounge up av pair of non-deflector rear glass hinges. But they have a lot of slop in them, and need to be refurbished. Anyone have a how-to on removing the pins, install bushings, and replace the pin? I've searched around but could not find anything. Hesitant to just "go for it"...

    Spoiler-free hinges

Evening! Came upon another thread discussing the plastic caps for the rear spoiler, and realized that I hate the thing with a passion for several reasons. The look without spoiler is - in my opinion - much better. But - the hinges for non-spoiler set-up are probably unobtainium and rare? Or...

    Detent cable adjuster screw

Dudes and dudettes! Just installed a new detent cable for my TH350, but noticed that the little screw for the brass cable adjuster thing at the carburetor either didn't come in the package or was lost by me when installing. Sooo.... now I need a new one. Don't even know the name of the part...

    Throttle cable firewall grommet...?

Evening Im trying to install an OEM qjet carb and OEM throttle cable in my '79 Cutlass after having some aftermarket setup. Looking in the service manual I can see some sort of grommet that the cable 'hooks' up to through the firewall that I need, but was previously removed and discarded when...

    Door hinge spring

Nobody knows the trouble I've seen? Anybody? Isn't this solvable with a spring? Must I buy a replacement hinge?

    Door hinge spring

Hi y'all Wanting to finally fix my 79 Cutlass Cruisers driver side door after 15+ years. It's missing the hinge spring, so it's just floating in and out. Very annoying. Didn't care as a youth, but getting older the small things are getting to me. Tried to locate a replacement, but haven't...

    Wagon rear light run-down

Thats where I'm missing the wagon specific schematics. If they only did something at the column, then there must be two individual b/u lights leads going to the back. That's what my -79 manual doesn't show. All the cars there have one light green wire going to both b/u lights. But it looks...

    Wagon rear light run-down

Those diagrams are helpful indeed. But still missing the wiring for the turn signals. My car is an ongoing project. I've owned it since 2001 so we've become good friends. It hasn't had plates on for a couple of years. Cars here need an inspection every other year to be road worthy, and last...
