Do they make them that small ?
Sure they do, I have a kit with Rivnuts the size of the buttonhead screws on my carb. throttle blades maybe even smaller.
Also I have aluminum and steel.

I realized looking at your gauge face that when I glued on my angle rings I clocked the bottom to about 4 o'clock so it not only angles up but also towards the driver side for easier viewing.

Thanks for telling me that. I wasnt sure if they should angle straight or towards the left. I'll try to find the rivnuts on Monday. I think theres enough meat on the face plate that I can back cut it a little. I have an extra that I can play with first.

You can also do a little sanding on the face of the Rivnut to close the gap also.

Looking at the front of the radio mount do you think the plastic will hold up when I try to put the rivnut in ? Theres not much there.
On plastic I use a washer on the backside that fits tight to the OD of the Rivnut to reinforce it and as long as you are using small screws it should work.

Well guys heres the finished product. Instead of Rivnuts to hold the face on I wound up using 6-32 T nuts that I cut down so they were flush and used a marine epoxy to hold them in from the back. After I glued them into the holes and the epoxy dried I covered the edges to make sure they will stay in place. Im hoping thats going to work. Cant see why it wont. The face is held on with button head screws.
Tomorrow Im going to cut the aluminum pieces that hold the gauges in place. Im also going to start making the wiring harnesses.

I want to thank 565bbchevy for posting the photos of the one he made and guiding me along with info on how he made it.

Did the wiring this afternoon. I also cut down the aluminum pieces that lock the gauges in. I need one more length of wire for the oil pressure gauge and I'll get that tomorrow. Autometer calls for 18ga. I know this is crazy but I like to use marine primary wire under the hood. I know its overkill but its just personal preference. I couldnt find the colors I wanted to use in 18ga so I wound up with 16ga instead. I had 18 in black and white so it worked out well for the lights.
Im planning on having this completely finished and under the dash tomorrow. I also have to touch up some of the gray but thats a 5 minute job.
And, Im going to change the one different lock washer on the one stud. I lost two extras that were on my bench. Yeah, Im anal. LMAO
