BUILD THREAD 1982 Malibu Wa-GOON 6.2/4L80e/8.5

Took the car to a local show and a friend arrived with his s-15 he hasn’t driven in years! One of the guys took a bunch of pics, and said if I ever sell the wagon, he wants it!

Haven’t done much to the car except drive it this summer! Something was squealing under the hood, and would quiet down after the engine warmed up. I replaced the idler, then alternator, and now the power steering pump, and it’s still there! Sounded like it’s coming from the right side of the motor, but nothing yet. Only 2 left are the water pump and belt tensioner.

Since I was swapping the pump, I swapped in a new AN power steering line. Still have the LED headlights to swap in next.

The tensioner would always be my 1st choice.

everyone that gave their .02 was saying drivers side of the motor, tensioner is the opposite side. Going to try that next before the water pump

Drove the car at night for the first time last night, and with the new headlights I feel like I can see into the next state! So glad I did this!!!

In other news… picked up a new toy. 2014 Chevy Caprice PPV. Previous owner did the DOD delete with an LS9 cam, swapped in a Chevy SS sedan steering wheel and console, along with a Pontiac G8 rear seat. This car is unassuming and scoots right along!!!! Already have a new air intake for it, and will get a new exhaust system then get it tuned at my buddy’s shop. Also going to have the tint redone, a good bit darker
