Trunk mounted battery and grounding

Connect everything to the frame. Don’t need a ground cable all the way to the front. But don’t ground to the body and expect it to transfer to the frame cleanly. Ground the engine to the frame and the body to the frame. My race car ran fine with the battery in the trunk. Cranked a 15:1 565 just fine.
I can't disagree with this as long as the frame is in good condition. I recommend to the block because the block will not have excessive corrosion like a frame may, repat may, have.

But don't add 12 grounds (exaggeration) that include the frame, block and frame. If electronics are being used, then ground loops are a true concern.

Good point about the ground loops, particularly when dealing with late model multiple CPU driven systems. For a fossil application where an HEI constitutes high technology, not so critical but, since we now live in a vacuum where it takes an AI to tell you how to sneeze, having to deal with multiple processors that don't like to talk to each other unless forced by software to do so, making sure they get the message loud and clear has become a high priority.

Article said aluminum could be used for car battery cables" .I'm thinking the thick stuff at lowes ect .but it might not be as heat resistant as some(auto class wire) insulation wise...those areas might need a woven fiberglass sheild ( near engine) .just not nessesary on the ground side . I thought for your penny, and by the time you buy terminals and test the concept of aluminum cables : it's a toss up' too maybe 'buying the copper trunk install kits '... But with all the temporary concepts it seems feasible enough " lol...jegs has some 200

When I did my first battery in trunk I ran a ground to the body (unibody, but stacked a 2nd on top of that and ran it to the block. The Camaro just has a ground to the seat belt bolt or something of the like and it runs fine. I connected the block to the unibody up front in 2 places and never had any issues. I guess just try something and if it sucks make it not suck.
