What did you buy for your Gbody today? (2025)

I run two JL Audio 10w1s. The sealed box I used for them is small enough to fit on the top "shelf" in th trunk. I run a JL500:1 and they sound great.
Those are what I’m looking at running, ran to 4ohms I’ve got 500 watts which should be perfect.

If I ever get the itch for more, the 95 is 1 ohm stable and produces 1200 watts at that resistance. Some Dayton HO’s would be necessary at that level though.

I just ordered a New steering box for the '80 at RockAuto, USA STANDARD GEAR ZSG7560, shows a ratio of 3-3.5 lock to lock so that should be an improvement over the original Saginaw. Also ordered a new rag joint just in case, the one in the car doesn't seem sloppy but may as well change it out while I'm there. Should have both by Friday.

The pin striping has been put off for the time being as the weather has finally turned "winter" and not worth the aggravation of towing it across town. I'll wait for a good stretch of weather and reschedule the job.

Will be interested in your experience, was thinking about changing mine as well.

I am replacing the original Saginaw box because the one I have is sloppy with no more room for adjustment. My car came with the cheaper box without the 4 bolt cap on the sector shaft. Will report back on the new box once I install it and get in some miles, hopefully this works out. 🤞
