Windshield A pillar

I replaced both a pillars and the header panel across the ttop myself. Bought a mig welder and went to it. One side at a time . Lots of pre measurements and patience. I have pics if you’re interested
I have a mig welder and also have access to a tig welder and a plasma cutter. So tools and skills with those tools are not an issue more of not sure where to start is the issue. So yes if you have pictures that would be greatly appreciated.

Much of my issues with the a pillars were due to rot at the bottom so a lot of fab work to weld in new steel. The important part is what has to stay correct like where the inner fenders bolt to the body.

Take measurements from the back of the b pillar to the front. Use tape to mark your spots on the b pillar that the measurement was taken along with the height measurement for the top of the a pillars to the rockers, lots of measurements help. If doing it one side at a time it almost falls into place. It was a lot more intimidating than actually doing it.

Thanks

Looks like the damage was caused by bad seam sealer in the driprail seams and pillar seams.

One thing I was surprised by is how the outside looked great, however once you got in there it was totally gone underneath. The water runs down the a pillars inside and the foam the factory puts in there just holds it and rots from the inside out.

A few more pics of the job.. notice the bracing to keep things where god ment them to be. Also the foam inside the a pillar after I removed it.

I didn't notice the car was a T top before, those along with landau and moon roofs seem prone to issues.

Yes that’s one thing I’m afraid of is once I get into it maybe worse than it appears to be
