What did you do to your non g-body project today [2025 edition]

Boy you really set her up with a tough car didn't you?
I never thought a squirrel getting kicked up by the tire would cause that. Then something designed to operate in a third world country shouldn't take damage like that either. Fun part will be explaining how it caused the damage for the claim. It'll be like explaining the how the deer head butted & dented the fender of her '07 Sante Fe while it was stopped years back.

Took out a loan and bought one- an '81 C10. Roxanne is getting sold- forget building or buying a '65e, I don't have time to fix the Sierra up all the way after that's installed anyways. I need a truck NOW, not 6 months from now. The plan is to sell it after using it and stuffing it with parts I've had forever, and the sale will more than cover the loan.

Meet Beverly:

Betty got moved outside but has yet to be reunited with her frame:

Got the walls and roof rafter a frame things in, (im a car guy man not Bob vila), next is the roof itself and shingles.

Been out of the mix for a couple months. Moving, putting stuff in storage, culling down...

Robo gets KDT/laptop and siren next then goes to sit for awhile until Memorial Day parade.

The escort now won't start. Getting ready to drag it down I-10 on its roof. Got a 305, 203 block getting prepped for 4 bolt main conversion.

Got the tool box fixed. Bought for a friend but lost key, box was too big so, returned it. Hbr Frt has no way to re-key, so just drilled out. Drawers open just fine now. Found out, just drill enough so catch falls out. This keeps the rest from damage and should be able to just replace old lock with new. ...project for next month...

Squirrel? ya say? And was it wearing a head wrap and screaming death insults as it committed suicide inside your wife's wheel well? Maybe chosen by the local squirrel community to protest the death of all those other innocent? squirrels that have died under the wheels of area motorists by doing as much damage as it could to her vehicle before succumbing to its injuries.

Did you happen to hang on to the corpse? Insurance companies love physical evidence and the rodent's tattered remains, complete with road rash and car shrapnel , ought to make them delirious, (or sick/nauseated), with joy.

On a more somber note, remember to check the various wiring systems that would have been locate behind that well liner. Also maybe take a peek at the brake hose. Maybe your kamikaze squirrel thought it was a tasty snack to chew on and forgot that there was rotating wheel between it and dinner.

Don't think it worked for A.Q. cause there were no signs of such as it was just face down on the double yellow. On;y thing she said she heard was what sounded like a stick getting kicke up & out by the tire (crunchy). Insurance is covering it like if it was a deer hit with out asking for physical proof of death. I did look up into the wheel well before the zip tie fix & no damage. Tomorrow after work I'll stop in at the body shop & get it scheduled.

Squirrel? I've seen what Javelina and Deer can do. With all the chipmunks around here..., getting dicey just to drive to the store.

I had to replace a front lower control arm on the Jeep XJ. While under there I noticed that the Mevotech end link bushings were all mushroomed out and useless. Only a couple of years old and shot. I grabbed a closeout on RockAuto for some 'famous name' rebuild kits only $1.89. Same part number as Auto Zone so I figured they can't be too awful. The Mevotech steel end link body was fine, just the rubber bushings disintegrated. I piggybacked the order so only one shipping charge.
