Camaro, Vette, and trucks all use different offset crank pulleys which should mean different offset on the water pump pulley, the pulleys don't come off the pumps do they?

...while I looked at a few more (all also way past their usefulness), and it magically cured itself unpon restarting. Idk if I freaked it out by cranking the ac right away or not, but it is back to "normal". And I did forget to push the ac button, so it was just blasting warm air. Next next week...

I had to buy another puller to get the timing gear off the crank but it is done. It has an acceptable amount of slack. Lifters came out easy with a strong magnet, they look good, kept in order. The cam also looks good, no pitting or excessive wear. Having no play in the valve train is a good sign.

And has better odds to having a forged crank form the get go.

...is still jammed with Firebird parts so I need to move it outside for any work. It has an engine/transmission, so I can pull the plugs and crank it out with the starter. With a three gallon outboard gas tank I can actually run it. Once I finish the roll bar I can concentrate on the drivetrain...

Still waiting on the machine shop. As mentioned, 20 engines a month for the oil field. I will call them again on July 8th, get them to fix the crank and I will do the assembly myself. A couple more pieces.
