I matched the gaskets up when I rebuilt it and checked all of them again. I also verified all the holes and passages matched with the gaskets. It has downleg boosters and if I blow air through the air bleed, it blows fuel out of the booster. This carb was on a running engine about 10 years ago...
Just as the title says, i have an AED Holley carb that doesn’t draw any fuel at idle or any where in the rpm range. I built a 388 for a guy and just fired it the other day with this AED mechanical second carb that I rebuilt. I have good fuel pressure, fu in the bowls are at the bottom of the...

Did anyone else see this? 9 miles! Doesn’t give much info and I didn’t read all 8 hundred and some posts. Be nice to know the story.
You are 100% correct with a Holley. If you were to ever switch to a Quick Fuel carb, the throttle linkage on the carb has 2 holes on the bottom. 1 for the 700 and 1 for the 200 tv cable. No need for the extra bracket. I’ve used quite a few different Quick Fuel carbs and they are usually pretty...
Hello everyone. It’s been some time since I’ve been on the forum and did any posting. I occasionally get on the site and check out some posts and see what is available in the classifieds but haven’t really interacted much. I haven’t drove my Monte Carlo in a couple years because I don’t have...

This is the one you need. I have used this bracket on a few different projects and works perfectly with the TV cable setup on a 200-4R or a 700-R4.
Just saw this and thought I would share. It’s pretty bad a** but doesn’t belong in my garage. https://www.motorious.com/articles/news/1984-hurst-olds-is-a-5-000-hp-daily/amp/
I wish you and your family the best outcome. I don’t know you personally but the only things in life that mean anything are family (whether they are blood or just someone important in a persons life) and one’s health. You are part of this forum and I see quite a bit of family here, which you...
We will agree to disagree. Like I said, I have used This exact cam and it had power everywhere. Have you used one? I actually plan on getting another one of these cams because it worked so great. actually comp cams recommended this cam for low and mid power.
I’m not sure where you’re coming from with this, but I have ran this same cam with 3:73 gears in a truck and it had all kinds of power down low, mid, and up top in the rpm range. I had the tune where it needed to be and it performed very well.
Great looking Malibu. I’m glad this thread came about. My Monte Carlo with a T5 developed a vibration like this. I have been contemplating where to start. I may have the same issue. Subscribed!!
My buddy went to oreilly the other day to buy a 200.00 off the shelf Edelbrock aluminum intake. Nothing special, just the EPS intake. It is now 449.00. I haven’t looked around at summit or any others but that is ridiculous. Anyone else notice this price increase?
Might want to plug that vacuum port off on the front of the carb. Actually you need to hook your vacuum advance up to that port if it’s the one below the throttle blades.
The Edelbrock and Holley 4150 have the same base bolt pattern. It will bolt to your performer intake. Get a good timing light with the rpm function on it if you want to know your rpm’s. Good luck.
Mecum auto auction is in Indianapolis this weekend. Anyone making the trip? It was scheduled in May but thanks to COVID, it is this week. I was planning on going in May, but can’t this week.
