The first G body I ever rode in and drove was my sister's car, a 1979 Regal, same color combination as yours, but 3.8 2brl, auto. Yours is very cool. What transmission are you punishing with the 454?
No dog in the fight here, just trying to understand. The "red to red" is just a clean air source for PCV? And the brass or pass. side ports are subject to manifold vacuum, hence the PCV valve in that circuit (in v/c or hose)?
Not sure what vintage your engine is, but assuming factory hydraulic roller, something like this?

They have larger ones too.
Is this your Granddad's place?
I guess there's always been "that guy" that does cool sh*t, but who's shop is all squared away and neat. I'm the same, except for the squared away, neat, and cool.
Here's the Moser axles. Not sure off the top of my head what to do for studs. Yours should be 7/16" x 20, and the stock size knurl would be too small for the Moser ends. I believe they are drilled for the '82-'88 metric studs. Maybe someone will chime in with a solution...
Would this cure your hose woes for the top of the tank? 24in/hg vacuum rated, 50 psi pressure

Could you have inadvertently kinked the 3/8" hard line during installation?
Perusing around the Silver Sport Transmission website and happened upon this:

Might find one cheaper, but at least they're available.
One option for the steering wheel would be just replacing it. I have found a couple on Jeep Cherokees in local salvage yards. I used one (center pic) for a while until I found my current '84 Toronado wheel. I had to do some minor mods to get the horn functionality right.
