    78 cutlass W-31 build

Valves held open will certainly make it a turd. Would be great if that was your problem all along. I watched a video on the Youtube a while back and a big dollar LS wasn't performing on the dyno. Turned out the pushrods were too long. Even the pros struggle sometimes.

Towing Pumkinator with another G-body wagon?

Glad to see you back Ben. My concerns would be 1) The 7.5" rear axle bearings- they're not exactly "robust"- on the tow vehicle. 2) Total gross weight- 3500# + 3200# + 2000# = 8700#-how much do you trust those F body brakes? Does the trailer have brakes? 3) Gonna be a turd off the line with 2.56...

Round #3: The little Buick Convertible has fuel injected small v8- I guess it started as a 215 Buick, but had a Land Rover FI intake, I know Land Rover used that engine design for a long time.

    HRPT 2023

Got home yesterday, about 1,800 miles by my math. Took a little side trip to Myrtle Beach just long enough to check the water- it's cold. Met Lucky Costa, saw Freiburger and Dulcich in the Duster they were driving, Photo dump in no particular order.

    HRPT 2023

Oil change and fuel filter replacement done. Speedo is functioning. So car is ready and 95% packed to head out in the morning. Looks like a good chance of running in the rain Sunday/Monday so I didn't even bother washing it. HRPT 2023 here I come!

What Did You Do To Your G-Body Today? [2023]

Finished up swapping mufflers from Pypes Street Pro's to Pypes Turbo Pro's, and installing a new lower speedo cable (68"- Restoparts CH20391 from Summit). I now have a functional speedometer after a year without one. Mufflers are waaay quieter, maybe too quiet to be cool, but no drone so far.

Knocking the dust off this one- ten days out. My wife has decided to sit out this one, so it looks like I will be rolling solo. Planning on heading out Sunday the 11th, and hope to get to Atlanta Motor Speedway around 4:00 to pick up credentials. Staying in McDonough Sunday night. Hope to see...

    Inground pool coping

    1) Yes, it's bare where the winter cover rubs. 2) Salt water, that's why I was considering the Marine paint.

    Inground pool coping

I know-first world problems here- We have an inground pool (from 1998) that was here when we bought the house in 2007. We replaced the liner in 2008, and It is in need of a new vinyl liner. That is in motion, but we want to refurbish the aluminum(?) coping around the edges prior to the install...

    1987 Cavalier- wow!

This popped up on Facebook ad. Really low miles, so it should be really clean, but really? $36,000? To whom are they hoping to sell this? https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/vehicle/mwk/1391/1987-chevrolet-cavalier

Anyone do SCCA racing? I want to use the new to me 87 4spd vette for it

The Youtube suggestion was just to get an idea of the process of registering, walking the course, working the course, lining up in the grid, effective driving practices, etc. If you have a buddy that will be participating, that should help. I think this guy gives a decent rundown:

Anyone do SCCA racing? I want to use the new to me 87 4spd vette for it

Watch a few YouTube videos on autocross. Your car has to look mostly road worthy~ tires that don’t look sketchy, battery hold down, etc. My regional group requires a Snell rated helmet, but they have a few loaners- if you have a head sock that might be a good idea. Be prepared to take everything...
