Tool you have owned the longest and still use regularily

I'm not sure it's the tool I've owned the longest, but it has a neat story. Back in the late 80s I worked on a local Sportsman Stock Car pit crew. The track is no longer in existence. At the end of the races each night they held "parking lot drags" where you brought your car from the parking...

Where to drill hole in transmission tunnel to put in floor shift.

Agree with the above. Factory set-up should use the factory dimensions. But if it's an aftermarket cable set up, it can really be placed almost anywhere since the cable is flexible. Place the shifter where it fits best and is comfortable to reach from the driver's seat. I have aftermarket...

    What's the selling price!??

I got my wagon in November of 2016 in Cleveland OH for $3000. Asking price was $3500. It was running but barely driveable. California body, no rust. Rebuilt SBC, rebuilt Turbo 400, custom Flowmaster exhaust with X pipe. Wiring was a mess, plastic interior parts were terribly faded, bumper...

1980 Pontiac LeMans Station Wagon - G-T-faux (stuck with it, and can't shake it... like a bad case of herpes)

Wow! After Turna was sent packing with his Malibu, your Wagon became my favorite car here. (It was always a super close second anyway. 😁) But, I understand your situation and I'm much in the same boat, way too many cars (8) for how much I actually drive. This past summer was the first year...

    Air lyft rear bag system

I have a pair of those on my wagon. Use them all the time when towing a trailer and hauling heavy loads. I even aired them up to haul 1000 lbs of bagged concrete.

Any use F Body wheels on a G body?

This pic is how my Wagon arrived. Not sure what year wheels they are / were. I also don't remember if they're fronts or rears. But I can tell you he had a 1/2" spaces in there with longer wheel studs. I still have the wheels and spacers if anyone is interested. I'm looking to let 'em go...

If I had to start over...

I've been at this game a REALLY long time. 40+ years. So I made thousands of mistakes in my younger years and I've also learned that I STILL make lots of mistakes. Case in point, my wagon; I've always told myself to start with the best piece I could afford. Since this car was only going to...

    Ready for winter?

Normally my wagon is my winter driver. But I have the 2006 GMC 4X4 now that will be son #2's and he's getting his temporary license later this month and will need to be practicing in it. So I'm taking the wagon over to my sister's empty garage space for this coming winter. But not for another...

Tire rubbing, or something else ?

I had a situation where a wheel weight on the backside of the rim was just barely contacting the brake caliper every revolution. Eventually it clearanced itself.

    2021 Hot Rod Power Tour

That Ranch Wagon was built by Steve Strope at Pure Vision in CA. It was featured on the Motor Trend TV show as well: "Hand Built Hot Rods." The owner of the car also owns ARP fasteners if that gives you any indication of the price tag on that rig.

Best sub $100 job you did to your GBody

Swapped out the 3:73 rear axle the P.O. had installed in favor of a Craigslist purchase of a drum to drum assembly with 2:41 so I can drive over 40 mph anywhere. The guy selling the 2:41 was going the OTHER direction. Trans is only a 3 speed TH-400.

For interest's sake - not mine.....

I would think it would be easier to just put the ElCo body on a full 4x4 chassis.
