I finally located a 2wd balzer, if this one is a no go then im not going to get it and i will go with the 4x4 setup. I noticed the different caliper orientation you were talking about on the 4x4 setup...
on the rear of the blazer that i found the caliper brackets that bolted to the rear end...
That seems easy and i dont plan on using the ebrake at all my line is broken and shot its an auto 4l80e also. im not running coilovers just a normal umi sport shock. ive read they are pretty nasty i saw some on the 4wd setup.
i plan on buying a complete 2wd kit (slotted drilled rotors...
So I can use everything from the 4x4 blazer (caliper bracket, dust shield, caliper, pads) and it will all work on my 8.5 I just need to get a rotors for a 2wd
Perfect, I’m going to go pull the backing plate from one of the 4x4 blazers that mounts to the axel housing/rear end.
Then I’m going to buy this new 2wd kit . The 4x4 backing plates with work with this 2wd kit right? It will just relocate the caliper position...

This is the kit I am looking to order once I get the part I need to mount the caliper mounting bracket to the rear end. I have new moser 28 spline axles and arp wheel studs going in as well. I am not worried about having a functioning...
Correct me if I’m wrong but don’t the backing plates bolt to the rear end or is that the caliper to axel bracket? I thought that these were the backing plates. Or are backing plates the same thing as the dust shields at well.
My main reason for the swap is if I throw an axle I don’t want it to...
I cant find any 2wd rear disc blazers at the local junk yards. Im buying all new calipers, rotors, caliper brackets and pads. Does anyone know if the 4x4 backing plates will work on the rear with 2wd calipers, brackets, rotors and pads? plenty of 4x4 blazers in my yard and pretty much all i need...
Im looking to do a rear disc swap on my malibu finally. I dont have any f bodys at my local bone yard but there are some blazers/s10's. I plan on buying a new kit for the rear (caliper, pads, rotors, caliper brackets) but i cannot find any 2wd blazers at my local yard they are all 4x4. Does...
Im building a 700whp ls turbo malibu and i am piecing together my driveshaft and going with 1350 u joints. I know the factory 10 bolt 8.5 pinion yoke will need changed out to accept the bigger 1350 u joint. my question is since i have to change it i have a few options on replacing the pinion...
Yeah thats a good idea I just wanted to make sure i had all of the correct stuff prior to trying to install. The arp rep told me i will need a press to properly install the wheel studs in the axle.
I am in the middle of swapping out my factory 28 spline axles to moser and I'm doing new wheel studs and the camaro disc swap while I'm there.
Did anyone upgrade to longer wheel studs or was there sufficient threading on the wheel stud still? I've read that the hat on a rotor is thicker than...
I’ll have the motor dropped in about 2 weeks from now. I have a 3” hood scoop so I may be ok. But the design they did doesn’t make sense.
I think I’m going to pay someone to cut, patch, and re weld the wastegate in at a different angle and with a shorter wg pipe.
I ordered a gbody hotside kit from rmperformance for a gbody/4l80e.
I’m not sure why the wastegate angle came like this, I was wanting something more the direction of the exhaust flow.
Do you guys think I’ll have issues with this setup or develop and wastegate creep? Thanks
i can’t find any information on the web about what size micron fuel filter I need to support 800whp. I’ll be around 750 peak with a -8an feed line, -6an return.
I know that a fuel filter can’t be too recstictive in micron or too small I surface area so what are you guys running for a fuel...
Given once I get under there and my line is in good shape I’m going to give it a go. Would save a decent amount of money in fuel line. This swap has alr day gotten way overboard on my original budget. But I still don’t want to skimp on anything.
Yeah I went with the hella conversion as well like Pontiacgp recommended and bought some h4 led bulbs. I haven’t installed them yet though, going to knock this ls swap first
