It was nice and slick out, so i started drifting around an empty parking lot near my house. One of the neighbours pulled out his old Malibu and started doing the same thing. Cops showed up and they gave it a go too, was a fun evening hahaha
I slapped in a new windshield wiper motor as the old one just couldn't do it's job anymore, it's really nice to be able to wash your windshield, especially considering how dirty the snow makes the streets here nowadays. Also swapped the summer tires for winters. I'm ready for whatever winter has...
What if they work, but not properly? When i took the cluster out 2 months ago to solder a jumper on the tach, i tightened up all the speed nuts. They're all a bit wonky.
I had a similar problem. Although i fixed it in a totally different way (my car is rather rusty, no use in spending lots of money on it!). No more clunking around when i hit a pothole now
I think the guys at work will be able to weld the plate for me this week, who knows.
Good...
I just hit the half mark. It started leaving the "Full" line once i hit about 180 kilometers on the trip counter.
My engine is running a little hot (i believe the fan clutch is gone, the fan spins by hand while the car is shut off) so that gauge is working. I'm sitting in park, so the oil...
Ever since i was a kid (born in 86) i loved seeing that era's muscle cars, the ones that caught my attention the most were the firebirds, transams, and the g-bodies. Bought one last month, have been in love with it ever since.
Replaced the shitty old valve cover gaskets, put in some felpro (?) gaskets instead of the old cork ones. Having AC, the drivers side was a real b*tch to replace.
I think my tank is a bit bigger? I put about 62 litres in it before when it was damn near empty, i usually hit 310 kilometers at the halfway mark. I dunked the carb in carb medic last week and i just recently replaced the shot muffler with a new one. Before i did those 2 things i'd normally get...
I'm not good with math (at all) but i don't drive the piss out of the car, and i get around 500 or more kilometers per full tank ( this is with a 267 v8 w/ 3 speed). I just hit half a tank and my trip counter says 320 kilometers.
So you fellas would stick with the valve covers using handles rather then slap on a pair that uses traditional style bolts?
I was under the assumption that these style of covers leak easier then the old style.
The previous owner decided to put aluminium "racing" type valve covers on (not sure on the exact name). Needless to say, they leak, badly, and i'm looking to replace them with proper valve covers. So my question is, what type of valve covers will fit on top of a 267 V8? I apologize if this has...
Well, finally finished. Heres the rat rod:
Few things i'd like to add, holy crap is there a lot of sanding involved before you paint :P Even with a palm sander, it took me a a while to sand everything down. Same with taping, but i'm happy i took the time and masked everything before...
Well, i managed to find krylon sandable primer ONSALEEEE at walmart, so i grabbed the entire shelf hahaha. The car is all primed now, and i'm happy i picked dark grey, as i now know not to paint it that color, doesn't look good
Also found some rustoleum "painters touch" flat black on...
Thanks for the heads up guys. I thought it might last a while as I did this to a Geo tracker (on the door and rockers) about 3 years ago and have yet yo see anything come through. I guess ill see soon enough if it'll last lol
Appreciate the tips. Least I know not to spend tons of money on...
