    Turn signal issue

Noticed the other day that my hazards don't blink, they stay solid. Turn signals work just fine. Odd.

DSMs were capable of some pretty big numbers, but were also more on the fragile side, particularly with the drivetrain giving out (manuals especially) and the notorious crank-walk issues. The 6G75 (3.8) was Mitsubishi's attempt to make power by throwing displacement at the problem. They didn't...

Which is better, X pipe or H pipe?

I don't foresee this engine getting any major power upgrades or a complete swap in the near future. It's a single exhaust now, but I do like the look and sound of a dual. If it means I'll lose power, perhaps a Y-pipe out by the very back might work better (just to split at the end leading to two...

Which is better, X pipe or H pipe?

Reviving an old thread here, but I need some opinions. I'm thinking about getting a custom catback built for my 231. After a bit of research, I've decided a dual H-pipe style would be ideal for my application. Now, would the crossmember have to be modified to accept a dual exhaust, what diameter...

Cool, does she like it? Most people will say it's either a girl's car or a middle aged man who couldn't afford a Corvette lol

About as far removed from a G Body as they come, this is the car I've been tinkering with for the past little while. Don't hate on it just yet, it was built in Illinois, so it's technically a domestic, right? :p It's a six speed 3.8 (231) that I'm more or less building for drag. Got a lot put...

    Hood release

Yeah I know what it's like to buy car parts from the States. They'll rip you off any chance they get. I suppose you can go to your local post office and get a quote. You'll need my address which I'll happily provide in a PM. Not in a rush so I'm ok with a week+ travel time. Thank you for your...

    Hood release

Last time I was Regina it was on the side of the Trans-Canada with a couple of lit cherries behind me. Cop caught me doing 110 in an 80. Lucky for me the officer was really chill and let me go because he got to practice his French on me (I'm from Quebec). Anyways.. Yeah I'm in no real rush. Let...

    3.8 carb rebuild kit

Looking over my options whether to build the 231 or not. Whatever the case, the carb needs to be addressed. I found these rebuild kits on RockAuto. Anyone have any experience using them or know of any better options...

    Hood release

I'm in Montreal, a short hop away from Ottawa. I'm interested. Going up to Toronto for a friend's wedding this weekend and coming back on Monday. If it doesn't inconvenience you too much maybe I can pass by on my way home and pick it up? PM me if you're cool with that and we'll take it from...

150hp actually sounds quite good for a fully bolted 3.8, as I mentioned before it doesn't need to be a rocket ship, just enough to turn some heads when pulling away from a stop. I will find that member's build thread and have a look. Thanks Flemming

    Hood release

Accidentally broke off the hood release in my '86 Bonneville today. Looking for a replacement online but it's either way overpriced, out of production or used. Anyone know where to get a new geniune release cable for a reasonable price? Part# is 20429339. Thanks

You mean an ECU tune? Don't think that's viable for a carburetted car.

Thoughts on Hedman long-tubes (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hed-68413) and PaceSetter shorties (https://www.summitracing.com/parts/psm-72c1205)? May just go custom with the catback later on

I would guess we have similar gears, as she's slow and lumbering off the line but more than capable of holding her own at higher speeds. The 3.08 is starting to sound interesting. Would something like that be a direct swap or would custom work be involved? And is it a posi? The car doesn't need...
