That's an odd find. Never seen anything for black after '80. Possible "universal" service replacment to any color interior dispite all paint to match parts seemed to of been dark blue for our cars.

Keep in mind production line painting has way too many variables with painting. Different assembly plant, possible different paint supplier. Most parts were noton the cars when painted. As 69hurstolds noted they colors were just changed in the sprayer system & might not of been fully/properly...

Only the '83-'84 H/O's & '85 up 442's from my knowledge had 15's but no painted. The '77 up B bodies used painted wheels in 15". Back spacing should be right from '73 up wheels from A bodies but there is always that chance there's a wheel that has to be different. I've yet to have an issue with...

15's are no issue as the stock 215/65 & about all 14's are about 26" tall tires. Stock width won't have any clearance issues either. Now unless there is issues as noted with the chrome in my opinion I wouldn't blast a good set of 442 wheels as there may be a better deal on plain Jane SSIII's in 15".

If you're talking about the rear left corner, the was the vent/overflow on earlier like '80 & older cars & just a sealed off port on the later ones as they had vented caps.

Parking kinda sucks cause you most likely have to park on 66. I've had some good luck & then it was just a morning out. I like it & Jr. usually gets a nice deal on freebies.

To be honest I'd stick with a original column from another G. That aftermarket has to be made to fit your car. Somebody here may have a good tilt colunm on hand. Just remember the '78 colunms have a splined shaft for the lower shaft as the '79 & newer had the doulble "D".

I'll add that even recoloring the faded panels there will always be a slight variance in color shade with all panels & substrates. Even when new everything didn't 100% match. But to help, your interior color code should be 74 for dark carmine. PPG codes for additional cross referencing is 72273...

OE 3 & 4 speed shifter both came out the same spot in the floor. Most of the OE shifter parts interchange between them too. You may have a factory stick car but it's been altered for the V8/4 speed swap.

K was for the 229/3.8 V6. If was a factory stick car it would of been only with the 3 speed Saginaw with a 2.73 rear ratio.

If you could fins a good build sheet it'll give you the answer. The VIN should have a H in the fifth position to atleast prove a 305 was original as it was the only engine that could of had a 4 speed. The rear will have 3.08 gears too. There are other tell tell signs for a factory stick car like...
