What did you do to your non g-body project today [2025 edition]

Replaced the output shaft bushing, seal and transmission mount on my brother's '02 Sierra. First project on the lift. Only hit my head five or six times....

Installed a backup sony Xr-c2200 radio. Same issue, super quiet on am and fm, loud as hell on tape. If anyone wants em, shoot me a message. Price reasonable, for both units.

Given the propensity for pictures that this board expresses, here you be..............................

Thing One. The dash fascia or gauge cover all nicely put back into position

Thing Two, part one, here you see the O-2 sensor hanging out in the free air as the Innovative gauge instructions want it to while the gauge cycles through part two of the initialization process. Conveniently I had my work light on its adjustable standard positioned in the cabin and it made a handy O-2 hanger.

The gauge itself, I elected to mount to the steering column in place of the remote air pressure gauge that I used to use with my Canton engine pre-oiler tank... (Long story, maybe later) Yeah, yeah, the gear clamp is mickey but A. it works, B. no one sees it but me, and C. it fits in the space that exists. Waste not, want not.

The pair of harnesses that you see first are for data links to a laptop. Useful if you are running any kind of FI system with a CPU driven software package. Lets you use the AFR readings as clues to how to tweak the maps.

The third harness that is off to the right is for the replacement auxiliary power socket. It is one of two; the other will be back at the rear doors. Handy for plugging in adaptors for phone chargers or GPS units or powered picnic coolers or other fancy toys.

This is that inner clutch hub that I mentioned. The "raccoon" rings on the studs aren't grease marks, they are places where the clutch plates wore a groove in the stud. By physical touch you can feel that there is a depression in the metal, necked down was the term I used. The plates no longer pass cleanly over those segments of the studs so the clutch hangs or grabs. No joy there.

Finally, although these more properly belong on my G-Body work thread, this is the next panel on the list for replacement. Although most of it is actually not in bad shape to the eye, the fingertips tell a different story. The eyebrow around the rear wheel is the worst of it and has already been patched at least once, many years ago, using only a flux core welder, used sheet metal, and lots of frustration, to fuel the work. Since I already have the forward portion of the panel cut away; done during the rocker panel replacement for access purposes, I have the option to simply burn in the partial patch that I have or do the right thing and replace the whole panel. The whole panel route gets me a lot closer to finished and gives me a better foundation for any primping and priming that would subsequently need to occur.

Almost forgot this but what you see here is the trunk floor drop panel for the passenger's side. When you strip off the quarter panel outer skin, this is what you discover behind the scenes. The upper seam secures it to the trunk floor and the lower one is the attachment point for the bottom flange of the quarter panel down by where the marker light is to be found. This one is jigged up for some mig work. Although it might prove that the existing panel is in good shape, having and heir, jic, is both useful and valuable. You can't really see them but all the edges are backed by copper heat soak plates to keep them straight and avoid metal blowout during the repair work. This is an old panel and life has not been polite to it.

HAPPY EASTER TO ALL

Did you do the grit in the floor epoxy? I'm wondering how slick it'll be when disgustingly humid (which we get here) or just wet from rain or melted snow.
The fleck gives it good texture. When we moved in the garage floor did some sweating due to weather conditions. It wasn't slippery. It's a very tough coating. I spilled the Helium/Argon/CO2 bottle off the lift gate onto the shop floor (rushing) and it didn't make a mark. The lift guys stood up the first post and then realized it should be on the opposite side. They walked it over to the other position and it didn't make a mark. I'm very happy I did it.

Unsolicited advice: You want to be sure to put down a vapor barrier beneath your concrete. You also want to avoid a one-day coating. You want them to grind the concrete (even new construction), put down the epoxy base and cast the flecks the first day. Then the next day they come back and put down the polyaspartic topcoat. If they are acid etching or using stuff from the big box stores, move on.

A buddies gf really want to get her uncle one of the Skenes bobbleheads and they had a bday party to be at so I took one for the team and went and got it for her. She bought the ticket and I ran in for the bobblehead and then right back out in all that madness so I didn't waste my time or money. It went against everything I would normally do but when doing it for a friend I guess you do that, I was really afraid with my luck I would run into Nutting. I've always said if I see him I am punching him square in the jaw, was glad that I didn't see him cause I am sure I would have lost the bobblehead and spent the rest of the weekend in jail.

You know you must display a form of showing shame for just going to a Pirates game even if it was for a good reason. These still don't make up for the insult to the memory of Roberto Clemente or to the fans who paid good money for the Bucco Bricks. Wonder if they'll get a simular turn out for football bat night. Go (insert real baseball team name here)!!!!

Yeah like I said it went against everything I stand for and say about the Pirates, but her uncle isn't in good health and she said it would make him really happy. But you are right, among many other things where he just constantly shows how terrible of an owner he is. You forgot to mention is was alright for Rowdy to hit under .200 almost all season but right when he is about to get his bonus they say they are sending him down cause of his play and having nothing to do with the money
