Awesome story, I've always had much respect for military but since my daughter just returned from basic and AIT, I have an even greater appreciation for the military.
And I love it when people think Grand Prix's are Monte Carlo's, it gives me the opportunity to educate them on a few things. lol
You are correct Longroof, the old studio is museum now and about to go through a major expansion as well.
I am ashamed to say this but I've never been to the museum either.

As a native Detroiter it feels good to see you all show so much respect and admiration for Aretha. Despite all the negative things people may say about Detroit, one thing you can count on is Detroit loving and coveting their own. To the world she was the Queen of Soul but to Detroit she is...
I've read this whole thread from beginning to end and must say this has made my night at work very enjoyable and helped me stay awake(night shift).
This thread has everything a build project should have. Engine work, suspension, sounds, rims, relationship and even some drama...lol. Seriously...
The Motor City Showdown was supposed to be a precursor to them opening a drag strip in Detroit because all the illegal racing that had been going on behind the airport for decades but obviously that didn't happen. There was rumors that it still may happen because the illegal drag racing still...
These dealerships are a rip off. For starters... a couple years back my wife and I decided to pay a lease up front for the entire term and they tried to do everything in their powers to try and get us to pay monthly. I'm sure it's because they couldn't tack on that monthly interest, which is...

This is the first thread in full that I've read since joining this group a couple years ago and I must say I am looking forward to more. You and I shared the same dream, I wanted a t-top console GP as well and I drove 5hrs from Detroit to Chicago to get it.
I have some time under my belt as a...
I'm feeling the same way because mine is under construction right now too. For many years I wouldn't go because it was depressing to see all the cars and I didn't have one. I worked at Beaumont Hospital right there of off woodward so I was tortured for years.
I'll be there, the family and I have a good spot on Woodward at the light in front of Papa John's. We have our own little small gbody section.
If you're in the area and looking for parts, this place always has stuff. The area is not too bad and right off the freeway.

I have never heard of this place and to be 100% honest, Joy Rd is not somewhere I like to frequent. I will look into this and get back to you seeing as though I have a g body as well and would certainly want to know about this so-called g body mecca.
