The answer is probably obvious, however I was wondering if I can use doors from an ‘80 Monte on my ‘79 Monte? The bodies look practically the same minus a few differences.
Thank you! That is good information. I didn't know that.
Everything has been regreased. The creaking sounds aren't as bad now, but I can still hear them every now and again. It really gives my Monte Hoop-D vibes. If it doesn't go away in a week, I'm putting rubber ones back in.
I recently had upper and lower polyurethane control arm bushings from PST installed on my ‘79 Monte Carlo. Now that they are installed they creak as I get in the car and drive. They were greased but still make noise. Has anyone else had this problem? If so what did you do?
I have found that trying to find the nose of an 80 is rather difficult. Same with trying to find a hood. I find a lot for an 81-88 but not much for 78-80
That's cool that you are partial to the 78/79 nose. They are a good look. However, that is not what I want. For what I want to do, I feel the 80 front end will go better.
That's good to know. That's been the general consensus so far. I spoke to my instructors and they said it should be no...
I'm looking at doing a project for my Restoration and Customization class. I want to make sure I got everything together. I have a 78 already which I had plans of selling and then starting fresh with a new G Body (Long Story). I wanted to find an 80 Monte Carlo that I could do up instead of the...
The doors look the same, however, would I have to change the doors as well since the nose swap will require me to put the 80 fenders on as well? Is the door part number the same?
I was thinking about swapping the nose from my 78 Monte with the nose from an 80 Monte. Has anyone done this before? What all needs to be changed? Would my current hood, fenders and doors be good to go with this mod or would they have to be changed as well?
