Does anyone have a link for a step by step on removing the frame from the body? I'm sure its been documented on here somewhere, just haven't been able to find anything yet
The heads are number 8's, the worst flowing heads of the era of motor. But I have a bigger problem with the cutlass than what I thought as of last night. I got around to pulling the seats and carpet last night to see how bed the drivers side floor pan was. I knew it was rotted, just wasn't sure...
Got my Cutlass out last night, and took her for a ride for the first time in a month. Felt good. The pictures of the Monte Carlo are of my first G body I had in high school, the car that started my G body craze
Also, do you guys know of a good product to repair dash cracks? My dash is not in terrible shape. I think I could save it without putting a dash cap on it.
Well I don't need ac. I live in Michigan. It's cold enough here for me anyway. But I would like heat. But the only problem, as you guys mentioned, a heat only system is completely different. I want a clean looking engine bay. I could do a complete heat and ac delete panel, but I wouldn't have...
The main idea I am struggling with now is my heater/ac box under the hood. My last g body, a 1984 Monte Carlo had the same problem. With the engine install, the previous owned ripped apart the a/c system. You can see this is my picture of my engine bay. I don't know whether to rebuild the a/c...
The car has a stock 350 with the th350 trans, and .373 open rear end. To say the least, the car is fun right now. I think its got plenty of power. I think I'd like to keep the manifolds just because I know they fit well in the engine bay. But from what I understand, if I was going to run dual...
Thanks. In pretty decent shape for being a Michigan car all its life. Looking to do a spare tire delete panel, due to the old one having some rust in the bottom. Patch the drivers side floor. I have a set of black bucket seats from an earlier g body cutlass that are going in. Planning on doing a...
Starting a build thread for my Cutlass I picked up a few months ago. Progress will be slow, but I'm looking forward to any help I may receive from anyone on this site. I'll try to post pics often of my progress, and keep motivated on this project. Not sure where I'm going with it yet. Leaning...
That's a common problem area for g bodies. My cutlass has the same problem. They do sell replacement rear frame rails online because this is such a common problem.
That looks really familiar... Good looking car. Looks like a bucket seat interior too? What are your plans for the car? btw, like the wheels. They look good on that car. How solid is the body and frame?
I've ran the car on the street just a couple times to see what it's running like. The car has no lack of power now, or at least it seems that way. If I get on it, its cuts the back right tire loose and doesn't get traction until I let off the gas. It's got power. I think my next step should be...
The car runs and drives fine now. I'm just working on cosmetics right now. But it's getting colder out here in Michigan, and the car is going in a friends garage for the winter where we are going to do some work to it over the winter months
