Just get an old 70's 4x4 beater pickup. Doesn't matter which brand since they were all easy to work on back then, and the 4x4 could get you out of more sh*t than the newer ones. I miss my old 73 Chevy. It could get through anything and who cares if it got beat up?
I bought my 99 Suburban almost a year ago from a dealer in a town 100 miles away. I got a ride back to the dealer to pick it up and drove it home. All proud of my purchase since it is a nice looking truck and it ran smooth all the way home, I moved it and saw a puddle under the front end. I then...
Re: Anyone ever have a Ford Ranger?
This is very subject to opinion and experience. I have had 3 4.3L and never a problem with any of them. When I was still driving OTR the mechanic in our shop used to work for a bakery and their fleet vehicles were 4.3 GM trucks. Many of them ran up to 300K...
Re: Anyone ever have a Ford Ranger?
Anything newer than 1989 on the GM S series trucks has the 4.3 V6 as the base engine for the 4x4. I have had 3 4.3L engines and all were great runners that get acceptable fuel mileage.
Try selling a vehicle! Last fall I was selling my old 89 Jimmy, and got so many calls from people saying they'd come look at it or they'd call back when they could look at it. Only 3 people came to look. I can't tell you how many asked what my bottom price was on the phone. I told them my asking...
I don't know much about the body of the Elco, but I think that is too much to pay for a vehicle that has no engine/transmission and needs that much work.
That right there is the problem. The wheels need to be torqued to about 100ft.lbs. give or take depending on if they are aluminum or steel. Just going willie-nillie with an impact wrench way over torques them. I use a torque stick on my impact wrench and it stops at 100 ft.lbs.
Re: Which speakers will fit in the stock location? Monte Car
You will probably need to go to a car audio installation shop to get the bass blockers. They are just wired onto the power wire that goes to the speaker. One end wired to the harness and wire a a plug onto the other end to plug onto...

I think these are what I have. Mine are about 3 years old though. I don't have any problem with the original speaker grills fitting since the tweeter doesn't sit too high.
Re: Which speakers will fit in the stock location? Monte Car
I don't remember what model the Pioneers are, I got them off ebay a few years ago. That was the cheapest price on them and had free shipping. May not get free shipping, but checking ebay or amazon wouldn't hurt. Just do a search for...
Re: Which speakers will fit in the stock location? Monte Car
The 3.5 is a direct swap for factory in the dash, so no problem to install. Bass blockers would be installed on the power wire prior to the plug on the speaker. My Kenwoods I got from Amazon at a very good price, you can get them now...
Re: Which speakers will fit in the stock location? Monte Car
Kenwood KFC 415-C. Got these 4x10's for my Suburban last fall. Sound good for a 4x10. I put 6x9's in my Cutlass, much better sound than the 4x10. I put a set of Pioneer 3.5's in the dash of my Cutlass with bass blockers. Sound fine...
I have a 93 S-10 ext. cab that I bought new and is still in great shape. 4.3L auto. I may have to sell it in the next few years because I plan to get rid of 2 vehicles and get a newer Colorado 4x4.
