Got a digital caliper and a dremel and just barely took out a bit of material. Went together just like factory. Thanks for the tips guys. Pin went in a little tight and the damn fill plug with seized shut but I got it done. Still gotta bleed brakes and put new studs in one axle. Hoping for...
I can't find a part number for them. Oreillys sells c clips but they won't fit the carrier. I'd like to eliminate them but money is super tight right now and will be for a few months. I just need to get it together for now. Eliminating the c clips will eventually happen for both cars.
Did you grind the inside or outside? sh*t just doesn't make any sense. I've tried 2 different sets of axle clips. Even the ones listed for the vehicle that the carrier came out of which is obviously a 28 spline. WTF
Using a GM auburn center section with the 5 spring and stock 28 spline GN axles. Everything went together perfectly but I cannot locate C clips to fit inside the center section. I tried some stock GN clips but the outside diameter is too large to fit inside the carrier. Been chasing my tail...
Awesome project. I like seeing the riv's get some love. That Buick 455 carb is exactly what I need for my 455 swap in my 85 regal. Too bad those damn speed camera tickets got me broke as a joke for a while. All I got to finish is a few gauges and the power steering pump and it's ready to...
Trying to find some ideas for a cheap front air dam to bolt up to the bumper. Yeah I could just do the GN thing, which I do have the single and two piece dams but I'd like to keep that stuff for the we4. Since this is a budget car I'd like to keep it cheap.
Blocked off all the ports on the carb except the brakes and trans modulator, replaced the 02 and now it seems to run better. No more popping and bogging. Idle doesn't seem to be as smooth as it should but that could be a few weak plug wires. It does die when put in gear once in a while...
Would a bad 02 sensor cause this if it was bad or "lazy". When I got the car running and started going through it I found the 02 sensor wire burned on the exhaust manifold. I cut out the bad wire and replaced it with same guage. Never replaced it yet.
