Just to update I have some OEM springs I am going to put back in and also some competition engineering 3 way adjustable shocks to put in the rear. Just need to order some slicks and retest.
Okay so I took some measurements.
LCA 0*
UCA 18* down
Pinion Angle 2-3* Up
Driveline Angle 3-4* down
Pinion Snubber distance 2 1/4"
This sort of confused me:
Drive Shock is 16 1/2" from top mount to center of bolt.
Pass Shock is 15 1/2" I do not know if this just play in the shock bushing or...

Port 78 was an old design I had but same idea where the UCA mounts are. I am going to get the measurements and angles shortly.
Funny you should mention that. I actually have a forum post over at msextra.com which is the forum boards for the MegaSquirt Extra firmware that I am running. AFR is reporting in the high 12s but my plugs are coming out white. They think there is a calibration issue which is causing the car...
It is an LS3 intake with a MS3X megasquirt standalone ECU running full sequential. Times bounced around the 12.70s but mph was pretty consistent at 113-114. Also it was very lean at WOT so there should be more MPH to get out of it once I figure out the fuel issue
I understand there will be a level of compromise between the 3. I will mostly be street driving with the biweekly test and tune at the drag strip and maybe 1 or 2 road course events a year.
rear gear is a 4.30 and the cam is 231/236 @ 0.050" .641"/.615" lift on 111LSA. Compression is about...
I will be getting slicks regardless. I grabbed the radials originally because I did not want to swap tires every time I got to the track. Well burning through a set of tires in 5000 miles was not fun so I now drive street tires to the track and swap on my radials. Radials are also shot. Down...
I will have to see if I can dig up some pics but it has a flat 3/16" plate that goes from each axle tube across the top and the UCA mounts are welded to it. I got a g body 9" bracket kit from ebay and trimed them to ft the 8.8 and welded them on. I am guessing they are taller than the factory...
Hey everyone!
This winter I did a LY6 6.0L LS and T56 swap into my 86 olds cutlass. Once tuned it should make around 450 to the wheels if not closer to 475. It has a spec twin disc clutch in it. I am having a hell of a time trying to get the car to launch at the track. Generally just spins...
We are having a hell of a time trying to get the body to move. Do you have a picture of the alignment slots?
I have the bolts all very loose and lifted up the sides of the body using the 2x4 along the pinch weld.
Thanks for the fast replies! I will check out those alignment slots. Doors close fine. I will just move the body into position and then torque the bolts back down.
Hey everyone. I have a 1986 Olds Cutlass with a SBC 350. Dyno numbers were around 450 at the crank. Car runs mid 12s and pulls 1.6X 60' with some MT drag radials(235/60R15). I noticed that the outside of my left rear tire is rubbing on the body but the right side I can fit my entire hand...
I have a quick question. I am planning on boxing in the open c channel area of the frame and have some metal to do it. How should I have the frame oriented. Should I have the suspension on with it sitting on all four wheels sitting on the ground (level surface or course) or should I have it...
Thanks for the reply pontiacgp. That diagram will be very helpful. Also I did not know that the frame was made from 14 gauge metal. Would you agree with my method of cutting out whatever is rotted and then just weld in a new piece and then drill a new hole for the bushing? Also and frame...
Hey everyone. I previously posted about having issues with my car handling like a pig and as many people pointed out my body bushing were probably in need of replacement... Well after spending a couple hours this morning I pulled out what was left of the bushings. Probably 1/4 to a 1/3 of...
I saw that today about the lower control arms not having the holes drilled. I guess I can measure the holes on the old ones and just spend a couple minutes in front of the drill press.
Perfect! thanks for the heads up. I will definitely be getting a hold of you guys when the time comes. Im moving into a new place in a week or two so the car isn't really the top priority right now (sad i know :( ....) Thanks for all the guidance so far. What do you guys think of these...
I found a set of the 15x7 olds wheels that I like so I think I am gonna grab those.
I am also thinking about getting these ... http://www.umiperformance.com/catalog/i ... cts_id=401
