These illustration came out of the 1979 NPN book. Some states do test for emissions and hope this helps for some of you. I just stumbled on those pages, I hope there's more for the other years.

This A/C box illustration is for A and gbodys it's dated 1978 but basically the same up to 1988. There could have been small changes over the years.
