What did you do to your non g-body project today [2025 edition]

I have my daughters 2010 GMC Acadia in the shop currently for a transmission rebuild. It has the 6T70, and was having some shifting/slipping issues. After I got it out and tore down, I did find 2 broken wave plates and some worn clutches. I used all new clutches, a Sonnex 3-5-R wave plate...

    Hot Rod Power Tour 2025

Last year was the first time I made it, and with my brother. We've ALWAYS wanted to do it, and only bought long hauler tickets last minute on a whim. No BS everything else was on the fly and we broke everyday. The enjoyment was running into people, helping them, them helping us, the hotel...

    Hot Rod Power Tour 2025

Been following the FB group and it ridiculousness with this. I may not go this year, was hoping it was somewhere else and we are planning to try and get to Drag week. Not sure I can afford both!

BUILD THREAD 81 Buick/Olds Turbo Wagon 02/15/2024 More Parts!

Man, another year down and I didn't do squat to the wagon to get it running again, other than gather parts. Life has kept me busy this past year, and not really in a good way. Other than gather more parts I did purchase some tools in 2024 to help with the engine build, I also called vendors...

20 years of GBodyForum? What's Next?

Some tough questions here. I've utilized forums since their inception, and still search em out today for various vehicles, and reasons that aren't vehicles. Social media may have an "instant" reply, but honestly half the time its useless responses. I hope forums will be here to stay, but I...

What did you do to your non-G Body project today [2024 edition]

That's what she will have to do, the only reason it is here is because she was visiting and on the way. She lives 2.5 hours away or else I would have just done the tires in my shop.

What did you do to your non-G Body project today [2024 edition]

Repaired my washer, appliances in my house never last. Also, had to repair my oldest daughters Grand Marquis. She took it to a tire joint for new tires, and a few days later with my middle daughter driving on Interstate 81, the left rear wheel decided to divorce the axle at 80 mph. So much...

BUILD THREAD 36x48x14 Shop Build Update 10/10/2024, Additional Lighting

I have actually, and with the shale down as a "road" base, it well be better suited for such a thing. In the future I suppose, haha.

Shop Tools/Scanners: Best Bang for the Buck?

I have a Crap-on Modis, out of date but works for my junk, and the scope is a nice feature, keeps me from using my old analog one. I have a launch on base for out fleet, nice tool for sure and I like it batter than our Crap-on scanners. I've seen good reviews for the HF one, and looks from the...

BUILD THREAD 36x48x14 Shop Build Update 10/10/2024, Additional Lighting

Heck yea, they move some air for sure. I had though about that from time to time, but they are fastened up there good! Another update, all the mini-split parts came in. I do however have to make some spacers for the wall mount, so I ordered some plastic rod to machine down for the task. It...

What did you do to your non-G Body project today [2024 edition]

It is a flathead. Thanks for reaching out! We haven't done a compression check yet, and the carb is still suspect. To be honest, it's going to get driven a few times as it has been sitting for 10 years, and will go into storage for the winter. I'm not opposed to a rebuild and we already...

What did you do to your non-G Body project today [2024 edition]

It's a more door, the engine runs pretty good. We have a shake at idle I have been chasing that I believe shouldn't be there, when compared to the Willy's and Plymouth flatheads, those things are smooth idling. Those avanti's are pretty sharp, and I doubt we'd find one, haha.

What did you do to your non-G Body project today [2024 edition]

Messed around with my Fathers 1950 Studebaker Champion. We did a petronix point conversion kit, set the timing, rebuilt the carb. Also replaced the LF wheel cylinder, fixed a brake pressure switch leak and bled the brakes. He swapped the fabbed gas tank and replaced it with a new OE...

BUILD THREAD 36x48x14 Shop Build Update 10/10/2024, Additional Lighting

Did a thing, pulled the trigger on a 36K BTU Senville Mini split. I did a bunch of online research, text, reviews, videos, etc. This seemed to be the affordable-ish solution, with a good warranty and hyperheat. The parts are going to start showing up today, with the system itself by FedEx...

The "I'm Obsessive With Lawn Tractors" Thread

I have an old tractor I started to hop up, pullies, tires, etc. it was something to kill the time on weekends drinking with the buddies, never finished though, it is sitting back in tent city. Maybe one day!

BUILD THREAD 36x48x14 Shop Build Update 10/10/2024, Additional Lighting

Small update as the fall is in full swing and winter approaches! I haven't done a compressed air distribution system yet, but the parts are mostly gathered. I did add some bench/tool box lighting to the shop using a 10 pack of ultra lightweight, twin tube 48", LED shop lights. Since I haven't...
