Towing Pumkinator with another G-body wagon?

Thanks for the replies folks. I do want to look into trailer brakes for sure. As far as the F-body brakes when I tow dollied my Nova there was never an issue but again in this situation I'll be adding the weight of the trailer too. I'll check into that load leveling hitch, I'm new to owning a...

Towing Pumkinator with another G-body wagon?

I have some air bags for it, the heavier kind specifically designed to aid a vehicle when towing. I tried Drag Bags on Pumk when I first built it and they popped from the heat of the exhaust within the first two hours of towing. :(

Towing Pumkinator with another G-body wagon?

Thanks! Weighing in at 3700 with me in it Pumkinator ran consistent 14.50s @ 99mph at 3300 ft altitude with an 8.5:1 406 with these same heads and a comp XE268 cam. I suspect it was a little less hp and maybe 400ish ft lbs. compared to the new 9:1 406 with the custom cam. Pumk's 60 ft time was...

Towing Pumkinator with another G-body wagon?

Hey all, how's things? Those who remember me I've wanted to get back to posting G-body happenings but have been working two jobs lately and staying plenty busy. I've got a question though and I really wasn't sure where it fits in the forum so it ended up here in general. I found an old thread...

How well could a g-body actually handle? What's the limit?

I started out with improving my car's handling about 12 years ago by reading the book mentioned at the end of my thoughts, and then experimenting a lot with my car. I later worked for Speedtech Performance for 5 years and furthered my performance handling education through that, and am always...

    Olds Intake modification?

In this case plugging the intake heat ports was super easy, so I did that and painted and regasketed the engine. It's still on the stand as I later had a 454 Chevy fall into my lap and I did a bunch of research to find I can make about a solid 475 hp and 550 ft lbs with some basic port work on...

G-body cousin S truck "Barn find"

Thanks for sharing that info! Originally I thought to swap in my Olds 307 but I'm getting mixed feedback on whether it's a simple swap or takes a bunch of mods to make it work in an S10. My older son recently pulled a 355 SBC from his S10 to make way for a higher hp 383. The 355 has a .540 lift...

G-body cousin S truck "Barn find"

TJ said he let his body guy design them, and he may have done things a little differently but overall it stands out and covers those massive 315s so overall he's happy with it. I may have designed the widebody a little different as well, but I like it because it's unique and is out of the box...

G-body cousin S truck "Barn find"

I finally had time to sit down and get a rendering for it completed. I also ordered custom plates, I had to do two choices so I put 80SVIBE and then 85 STYLN on the application. Most of my stuff is Pro Touring modern styling but for this build I'm shooting for a flashback to the glory days of...

G-body cousin S truck "Barn find"

A couple of updates- Front tires are 195-75-14s and I wanted to have a little more meat out back so I took some 215-70-15s I had from a parts car and mounted them on some 15x7 steelies. I wanted to do something with the wheel color too, black wheels are starting to lose some pizzaz for me and...

I hear ya Leftlane. I only use the clear plastic filters. On this truck 2-3 feet of fuel line keeps it away from any danger, and allowed me to put it between the tank and pump. I ran out the first few gallons mixture of the old and some new gas and swapped in a new filter when I put new gas in...

G-body cousin S truck "Barn find"

I pick up little mascots for all my cars to put on the dash or hang from the mirror, something goofy I like to do to remind me it's ok to still think like a kid sometimes. I named this truck Gary because it'll be the slowest vehicle I own, so I bought this to hang from the mirror, lol.

G-body cousin S truck "Barn find"

Finally after jumping through some paperwork hoops that come with buying a car from the family of someone who's passed away, Gary the S15 is finally registered in my name. We've put near 100 miles on it in 2 days just putting around town to clean out the old gas, so far it runs great with no...

Hmmm hadn't thought of that. There was only a couple gallons in the tank I think, it was at about 1/8 tank on the gauge. I put in near 6 gallons which brought it up closer to half a tank. So far so good driving for maybe 5-10 minuites around the neighborhood. I was thinking once it's registered...

SMH. The title has both the gentleman's name and his wife's name on it so when I filled out the deceased owner's form I put both names on it. I waited in line for 50 minutes at the DMV and in the first 5 seconds the attendant said we need one form signed and notarized for each name, you can't...

G-body cousin S truck "Barn find"

Updates: Good news on the paperwork, I have it back from Karen and have an appointment at the DMV tomorrow to get it registered. I'm pretty excited to start legally driving it around town. Spent a couple hours yesterday replacing all the vacuum lines, all of them were gushy and/or cracked. I...
