10 bolt 7.5 ring and pinion help

Hello all,

I'm putting an auburn series 2 (3.08 and down) lsd in my 80 elky. I'm aware I have to buy "thick" gears to use anything over a 3.23. I'm looking to put in 3.73 or 3.90s. The carrier is a 28 spline so I know I'll need 28 spline axles. May be a dumb question but I'm finding these gears everywhere that say the pinion is 27 spline. Is that what I need or do I also need a 28 spline pinion. I thought the 27 spline was for s10s but I'm young and dumb. All help welcomed please and thank you!

All 7.5 pinions are 27 splines I believe.

the yoke that fits on the pinion spline needs to be 27 spline which it is for a 7.5 rear . That has nothing to do with the spline in the side geaars
