I really love the Cragar Soft 8's, But my problem is I bought a brand new set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A's 205/70R14's that I know I cannot sell for close to the $410 I paid (that's out the door installation) so Im wondering if there is any decent chrome rim in a 14" that would fit the Gbody no problem. I would like 14x6, maybe fatter rear ones, I like really deep rims.

holy sh*t! you paid ****ing 410 dollars for 14s! u got RIPPED!

I work for a tire shop, our most expensive are 70 a piece!

not to rub it in but thanks to working at a tire shop i got a set of 235-60-15's cooper cobras for 235. (mounted and balanced them myself... bought at shop costs)

hmm... a 205-70 is a really tall, thin tire, anything wider is gunna make that tire look wayyyyyyyy to thin. whats wrong with your stock wheels? If it were my I'd leave em till i could get 15x8's and new tires.

However I must say I put a damn 285-45-14 on a 14x6 yesterday, and that look BAD *ss!

I like the wheels you have now. If I were going to switch them, it'd be for the same rim, except in 15x7 up front and 15x8 in the rear instead of the stock 14x6's all around.

There's no sense in buying a different set of 14"ers... Either take them off and sell the wheels and tires as a package, and lose some money, or rock what you've got now till they wear out, and then keep them as extras and get yourself a nice new set of whatever you like.

And 2000.malibu.ls, I know the customer is always right, but 285 on a 6" rim is retarded.
The center of the tread will be gone in no time, since the tread surface bows outward due to the narrow rim width.
I had 275's on 7" rims, and the centers wore so much faster than the outer portion of the tread, they looked like BFG drag radials. And it wasn't because I was doing burnouts either. They were so wide, the L99 in my Caprice couldn't even break one (no posi) loose... and it would boil the stock 215's...

Yeah I like the rims too, but they have some blemishes on them, I would actually prefer to re-do them buy Im not sure how to, should I take them off, remove the beauty rings, sand, wet sand then primer then what paint should I put on them?

Well heres a pic of my car back before I bought it at my uncles house, the tires on it are Cooper Cobra 245/60R14's on the rear and Cooper 205/70R14's on the front. These are the tires I took off the 2nd day I bought it and installed my new 205/70R14's

i got the cooper cobra 235/60 and 255/60 tires purchased and mounted for 430, so wow at 410 for the 14 inch tire price.

i have some cragar aluminum 14 inch wheels i would let go cheap.

these wheels:

take them to get bead blasted, then powdercoated or paint them after you get them bead blasted. you can use some self etch primer, then topcoat however you want, for a simple D.I.Y. job you can use duplicolor's etch primer and whatever else color they have and just use rattle cans. or if you can paint them with a good basecoat and clearcoat that'd be better, but powdercoat is best for durability. i've had mine done just in black and they look good. the only way to get them nice is to bead blast them, or strip them chemically, you can't do it with sandpaper

....i also agree that the factory rims look just right. your trim rings and center caps look in good condition too! i'd just redo the stock rims and get some BF Goodrich Radials and call it good

lmao, yes, i had no choice, he told me thats what he wanted, and I didnt have any other options for him, so I said screw it and put it on. it was funny it looked beefy as hell!

I kinda like the stock wheel look..but then I'm an old fart...here's a pic of my son's 81 Malibu with 215/70-14 TA Radials and yes we paid just over $100 a tire. He does want to go with an atermarket wheel so I'll probably end up with the wheels and tire for my Camino.
