I kinda like the stock wheel look..but then I'm an old fart...here's a pic of my son's 81 Malibu with 215/70-14 TA Radials and yes we paid just over $100 a tire. He does want to go with an atermarket wheel so I'll probably end up with the wheels and tire for my Camino.

Those rims look really nice on El Caminos, my uncle John (The guy who re did my car before he died) had a 1971 Camino, it was yellow he had Oldsmobile rims on his car, I have a picture knocking around somewhere Ill find it.

IMO, I like the stock rims also. But on my 79 I haven't seen any other rims that would loook good on it. The most I would do maybe is find a set of 15" SSII's and paint them burgandy like the top of the car. I have another set of 14" waiting to get cleaned up and painted burgandy too.

And 2000.malibu.ls, I know the customer is always right, but 285 on a 6" rim is retarded.

lmao, yes, i had no choice, he told me thats what he wanted, and I didnt have any other options for him, so I said screw it and put it on. it was funny it looked beefy as hell!

Who even makes a tire in that size?

i dont even know! lol I fogot what brand it was, but it looked like a older style tire, raised white letters, coulda been 15 years old for all I know.

ive never seen a 45 series 14" tire. ive been a tire guy for 2 years and did it previously about 10-11 years ago. also never seen a 285 in a 14. recheck your size man. biggest ive seen is 245/60.
