I have a set of 15" X 6" Pontiac Rally II wheels on my 1983 Bonnewagon. Someone wants to swap me my spare set for a set of 15" x 7" Rally II's. He has a Pontiac Ventura and says they hit. As much as I would consider the 7" wide wheels I was afraid they may hit on my car too. I do know the early Ventura used the first gen F body subframe and the later ones used the second gen F body subframe. I am unsure what year he has. I had a problem with 7" wide snowflakes hitting so that is what concerns me.

I have a set of 15x7 snowflakes off a 78 B-Body if you want

Thanks, I have two sets of 15" x 7" snowflakes and even a set of the 15" X 8" WS6 snowflakes. Those are great on Firebirds but I like the Rally II's on the wagon. I thought our front suspension was more like the second gen subframe but since the snowflakes rubbed I have to wonder. I once had a '68 Firebird hardtop and the snowflakes fit it nicely so what is wrong with our cars?

It's the ill-planned size reduction & metric conversion that messes up out cars. My thoughts are our generation (4th gen A's) could of been closer ot the 3rd gen A's in size than the size we ended up with. But this is my opinion & we all know opinions are like...

BBody snowflakes have a different BS

Get him to bring you one to try. I actually ended up with 14x7 and 15" nicely widened to 10" Pontiac Rally 2? with Trans Am center caps on my 1970 Cutlass S. Worked great because I had a bunch of 14" tires. Paid $100 for all 4 with trim rings and like the look.

Not sure where, but maybe somewhere online has backspace/offset info for the rims? If you could find that info for his rims, and for the ones you have that you know make contact on your car, you could make some educated decision on what you think would happen?

The online resources are just a rabbit hole filled with twine. It’s really difficult to find exact measurements without knowing the wheel codes, and at that point it’s easier to measure the wheels physically.

If the MCSS and 71-72 novas are any indication, if those wheels have more than 4-1/8 inch of backspacing, I’d be skeptical of running them. 4 inches seems to be more commonplace when going with 15x7s.
