My gbody currently has 15x7 GN rims installed on it but they are a little tired. They have what looks like to be black spots. I would like to try some chrome polish but not sure if it will work. Anyone have any experience with chrome polish on GN rims?

Now to the 15x8 question that is on my mind. If I can't pollish up the GN rims, I've found a set of 15x8 rims that I like. Besides the inch of difference in width, what's the difference between 15x7 vs 15x8 rims? Will my 235-60 tires from the GN rims fit the 15x8 rims? Will the 15x8 rims require spacers?

It depends on the backspacing and what width tires you are going to run.

235/60 will fit fine on a 15" x 8" rim as long as the backspace on those are close to 4" give or take maybe a 1/2" they should fit your GN without issues.
My 86' Regal has 15" x 8" all around with 4" of backspace (I prefer 4" of BS on a 8" rim) and I have 235/60 on the front and 275/60 on the rear.
Here they are on my 85' Regal that I sold.

Thanks for the info - my only issue is that I'd have a hard time figuring out the backspace get before I have the tires in hand. By the way, this is for my Regal (GN clone-ish).

What are the 15" x 8" rims you are looking at?

If I do purchase new rims, I've thought about selling off my GN rims since my car isn't a real GN. wonder if they are worth anything since they need to be rechromed. They aren't terrible but the chrome is spotted.. Hopefully I'd I do sell them off, I won't regret it later...

As 565 said your tires will work fine w/ 4in back space - if your ever want to put on a tire w/ a bigger mid section go 3.5 back space.
