1957 283 SBC

Yea, I was hoping one of you guys could tell me the GBF version of the Tri-Five or classic Vette world. This is the most reliable, stable Forum I have ever participated in. To clarify, the T712F code is the one stamped into the pad on the front passenger side cylinder head. My prior research indicated the 283 2brl. PG combo.
Not sure it the codes were the same in the '50's as the late '60's but that might be a truck engine with the T in it.
 
My guess is your average trifive owner doesn't understand how to use a computer let alone the internet, although, I hear they are making inroads with their jitterbug phones.

Meanwhile, your average 50s vette owner bought his car at Barrett Jackson and is horrified at the idea of oil touching his hands.

I would venture a guess that they as a whole have more time on their hands, being advanced in their years and all, as you implied.
