The market isn't the greatest right now, but could pick up by the time the car is restored. It's definitely worth restoring, but I wouldn't look to make out like a bandit on it, because a top notch 100% stock restoration could cost close to what the car is worth right at the moment. Now is actually a good time to get in to some of these cars that were consideded out of reach a couple of years ago. There is no shortage of the old Mopar muscle cars, you can get your hands on just about any one you could want right now for what is pennies on the dollar from just a few years ago. I thought this one was interesting, although not a 100% stock restoration, it would be a great driver for $24k:

Right now the car has an odometer reading of 100,017 origional miles. I'm trying to find out what the value of this car would be RESTORED not as it sits now. I am going to do a mostly factory restoration on this car. I made out like a bandit on this deal after I talked the previous owner down from 10k to 7.5k. It has the 8 3/4 rear end with the 323 sure grip posi and the body and undercarriage is 100% RUST FREE. Origionally owned and kept in calfornia until 1990 when previous owner out of Dallas bought it. Now I own it down here in San Antonio. He owned a bunch of fords and somehow came across this mopar. He was going to turn it into a weekend dragster, luckily I bought it.

As far as the cars rarity, the options on this car are oddball in there own way. If four speeds were standard equipment and as common as some people are saying, then where are they cause all I've seen for sale are automatics. The only four speeds I've seen for sale had bench seats. I know that 383's were standard equipment, but his car also has the HP 383 not the standard blue two barrel 383. For those of you who don't know the difference, it means basically that the 383 HP motor came with a 440 cam and valvetrain. I plan on putting in a 484 lift purple cam but thats it as far as the motor going aftermarket.

Unfortunately, the previous owner swapped out the origional factory radiator with an aftermarket aluminum radiator. This is a good upgrade but bad for origionality. The other thing I want to do is convert the front drum brakes to disc brakes, primarily as a safety upgrade. I have a paranoya about the reliability of drum brakes and feel safer finding a pair of disc spindles off another B body or A body such as a Dart or Valiant. The final thing I might 'possibly' do is put on the gull wing and chin spoilers. But other than that this car will be a mostly factory restoration, minus stupid things like having an old cell battery re-cored lol.

PS Found out that A/C is a pretty rare option on 4 speed cars. They're not rare on an automatic car, but on a 4 speed that's a different story. Most people who owned 4 speed cars opted to not have A/C because it weighed down the front.

4 spds,. are rare in ANY mopar, tho this is not really a sought after car, its still unique in its own way.

i said $7500-$10,000 as is, and you paid $7500. you got a good deal, but you didnt get a steal, good luck with the car, its a really solid start and you have to post pics of the progress

I know lol. I am on Moparts, Roadrunner nest, and here on G body. Like getting ideas from everyone you know. Btw I won't be selling the car just curious what its worth restored, not to figure out what I'll get for it.

I would not feel ripped off paying $15,000 for that car as is. If it is as you say and the pictures indicate, it is a very easy resto. The 4 speed, matching numbers and color make it a desirable car. From what I can see, it should take about $5,000 to finish it if you do it all yourself. It is also similar to the Road Runner or Sport Satellite that Daisy Duke drove on The Dukes of Hazzard before she got the Jeep.

That's what I've had a lot of old mopar guys telling me. Only paying 7.5k for a numbers matching 'actual bird' and not a plymouth satellite clone is a deal. The guy wanted that 10k and he could have easily gotten it from someone else, but me, my dad, and his buddy talked the guy down. Daisy Duke is the main reason I fell in love with the 71' Roadrunner. The only thing that bugged me was that her car was painted lemon twist which was a 70' RR color, but its a movie and she was pretty good looking back then lol.

Well, I was actually referring to the original TV series. I never saw the movie as I didn't want to see an abortion of a show I had fond memories of as a kid.
