It was just GM blue at that point. 45 years of oil, grime, dust, and heat changed it to the color it is now.

Everything switched to Coporate Blue in 75 then Semigloss Coporate Black in the early 80's, around 83. Funny how paint was the beginning of the end for GM.

Yeah sadly. All i can find online was 78-82 or 83 was Light blue like the picture I posted. no Paint Code though. Its important for me bcuz I'm doing restoration quality.

Yeah, that color with yellow plug wires really pops in a nice new black bay. And yes, it is a teal color, and it will get greener with age. So keep that in mind. Everyone who saw my engine said it looked awesome, so when that particular engine goes back in the car (with aluminum heads, etc), it will be repainted that color.

Need a paint code? I got PPG's code for the corporate blue, 15159. I have yet to find a GM code for engine colors.
That'd be awesome!!! I haven't found any yet.

This is the eng i got. Red Leads & Blue cap. I think it looks killer! (Not at all stock) It's been built internally. I think 0.20 over. can't remember. everything new inside.
