The only item correct in that cluster is the tach. The speedometer and other gauges are 86-88 Monte Carlo/El Camino. The wood appliques are 80-81.
GM did not build any manual transmission A/G body vehicles after the 1981 model year. As GP403 has pointed out, the shifter and boot don't look correct, and the shifter looks to be too far back to be as original. I've enclosed a couple of photos of the shifter setup on my 1980 Malibu factory V8/4 speed coupe.
Point taken. My mistake. But not originally available in either the U.S. or Canada, and very hard to import (at least by normal means).Depends on what country you are in..........Mexican Monte SS
Yes, I agree . Might be a Muncie or other replacement trans. The new trans will move my shifter back about an inch. Mine is a tilt also.😎Always nice to see another stick car! But... That boot and shifter are definitely wrong. Almost looks like the floor doesn't have the "hump" in it, or in the right place, either. Then again I've seen a couple chevrolet cars that claim to be factory sticks without the hump, so *shrug* I don't know anymore. The shifter almost looks too far back, too, but that could just be the replacement. Maybe the original broke and somebody swapped in a f-body or aftermarket unit or something? The rest of the docs and important bits would indicate its a stick car. (and yeah I need a tilt stick column, too!!!)![]()
Here you go. I'm trying a couple of different sets of bucket seats in the car, to see what I like the best, but it is a factory bucket/4 speed car, documented by GM of Canada Vintage Vehicle Services. I also have the original bill of sale.the shifter and boot have been replaced for sure, the saginaw is orignal. The hump is in the floor , may be hard to see with replacement boot .This is the most documented 4 speed car i have ever seen . I enjoy checking out other manual shift g-body,s . They are rarity for sure ! I also owned a 77 rs nova factory 3 speed in the floor bench seat also, i have never seen any pic,s of a factory 4 speed g-body with bucket seat,s . Has anyone here seen any ? or have any pic,s
