If youre looking for a wagon you gotta look off the island. Im not saying its impossible to find one out here but its really hard. I bought an 83 wagon last year but I got it in TN and had it shipped up. Its not a perfect car but for what I paid it was well worth the money. I was lucky enough to have a friend down there that was able to look at it for me. I found it on racingjunk.com . Are you in the market for a wagon ? Do you go on maliburacing.com ? Theres a LI g body site too thats pretty good.
No, i'm not in the market for a wagon i just thought maybe a member would have been interested seeing as how its a 4 speed wagon. if i had a family then i would be all over it, how cool would a 4 speed malibu family wagon be? 8) or maybe if he'd entertain a trade of some kind..

I thought about buying a real nice 80 wagon from a guy out in MN. It was on CL a little over a year ago. The guy was the original owner, it had a little over 60K on it and it was garaged since new. The car was light blue with a blue vinyl interior. It had dealer installed finned aluminum wheels on it that looked like the old turbine wheels. The only thing was it was a V6 with a 3 spd on the floor. The guy wanted big money for it when he first listed it, (10K) but after a while he re listed it for around 6K. I just couldnt see buying a V6 car. It did look real clean though. Do you own a Malibu now ??

No, i dont own a malibu, i'd love to though i'm a big fan of boxy looking cars. there was a burgundy 4 speed one at a local car show (king kullen shopping center in wading river) that was really really cool and i think it was a decent price. theres also one on rocky point in the business district at an autobody place thats burgundy with american racing outlaw I wheels that looks mint but i havent seen it up close at all only from driving by. theres also a killer looking silver monte SS at the same place. even 6K seems a bit much in my book for what that wagon is

I hate to say it but I paid 6500 for my 83 last year. I thought it was a pretty fair price all things considered. Decent paint, low mile 355, 2" drop all the way around and a set of rally wheels. The inside was redone too. The best thing was there isnt any rust at all. Anywhere. I bought my 81 coupe in 2001 down in WV and I paid 9K for it. I dont even want to tell you how much Ive got into it now

That car is still for sale, and the guy still wants $6K for it...
It's a beautiful car, but realistically only worth $3500 at best.

Does he still have it listed on CL ? I would have probably paid 4500 for the car just because it was so clean but it would have been a big plus if it was a V8 and not a V6. The other issue was the shipping charges. I got prices of 800+ to get it here.

I still see it listed every couple months. Been a while since I looked, but for $6K, I guarantee he didn't sell it...

It's only a few miles from me, and I thought about going to look at it but figured it'd be best if I didn't torture myself.

please dont get the wrong impression, Im not trying to knock you, your car or anything like that. i'm kinda the master of buying high and selling low and the value that i place on certain cars, such as my 87, is wayy higher than any person would dream of spending so i'm in no position to really say whats a good price and whats not. in my book all that matters is whether or not youre happy with what you have and i certainly am.

The guy sent me a bunch of pictures of the car and it looked spotless except for the carpet. I asked him for close up pictures of the door bottoms but I think he just didnt understand what I wanted to see. It would make a real nice daily driver with a newer set of wheels and tires. Bet it would be pretty good on gas too !

mines got good tires, wheels and gets good milage too! and im not asking an outrageous price..
