yeah learned that one from my highschool shop teacher, he had a student that didn't listen and sure enough the coil got loose and hit him he managed to somehow get his arm in front of him but ended up braking his wrist, forearm, and dislocating his elbow and shoulder and cracked a rib! CRAZY!

wow, looks like you're making awesome progress!
what kinda exhaust are you planning to run? I find the lowest hanging part on my car is the muflers... they almost scrape on really big bumps. But my car is stock hight, so you'll have issues for sure.

here's a picture of the GP's underside... Note how the headers are flat at the bottom

I think the mufflers can be tucked up a little higher than they are now, but as they sit, they are lowest at the front.

if you're worried about headers, I wonder if they make shorty headers for our cars?

I want to end up running ram air III exhaust manifolds, they are supposed to flow almost as good as headers, I like the fact that they are metal to metal no collecter gasket or doughnut to change ever. Hopefully with the drop I can go over normal sized speed bumps without scrapping anything, and just dodge the big ones, like my friend who owns a chevy HHR SS we go to the same store every friday and he takes a roundabout way in the parking lot so he does not have to go over this huge *ss speed bump. I might stiffen up the back further with the air bags in the coils like elco warrens monte to help it out some over them.

Don't mean to be a dick, but 48 divided by 21 is 2.29, not 2.11.

Nice car, hood took a lot of work 😀

Thanks for not meaning to be a dick! yeah took a second look and I divided the last four numbers instead of the first four  not only that I divided backwards and didn't take into account the decimal, so I did 15 divided by 75 and got .211and a bunch of other numbers, I think I inhaled too much brake clean over time  definitely do better next time. Yeah speaking of hard work I'm having a hard time with one damn stubborn control arm bolt it seems that its binding on the sleeve in the bushing, I burned out some of the rubber to get a better look and sure enough every time I turn the bolt the sleeve spins, tried whacking it with a hammer no deal, tried to slip a needle nose vice pliers in there to stop the sleeve from spinning still to dice, tried wiggling the hex head with a vice grip, and hitting in with an impact gun, I'm going to see if I can fit a hacksaw blade, or some kind of cutting tool to get at the sleeve, anybody got any ideas that I could try frustrated me for a good three hours before I called it a day, took a shower and something cold to drink 8)

punched a drain plug in the gn rear just for ease of changing fluid, there was a dimple on the cover already figure that's where they were planning on making one so figure just do it you know.

got the moser axles and new wheel cylinders installed.
IMAG0079.jpg

installed intrax 1" drop springs.
before: I should have took better strait on pic's before dis-assembly, oh well 😀
IMAG0032.jpg

after, with new brake's and aluminum drums
IMAG0082.jpg

This morning I was going to start to tear down the front, change out the control arms as I have spohn lowers, and HR parts uppers, and the 1" intrax drop springs, but beermonkeys last post has me hesitating a bit, he has the 1" drop in the back only right now and his exhaust is hitting the ground! I have duals out of stock manifolds, so I asked him what part of his is hitting, if it's header collectors I might be safe as running exhaust manifolds gives some ground clearence.

Here is the front with tired stock coils, car originally had a 301 now has a pontiac 350

The dimple is where the little doughnut shaped magnet was supposed to be. It's too high to drain the diff you will still have a couple of pints left in there after you pull it.

Thanks for the heads up I thought it looked a little off when I bolted the cover to the rear, it's cool though cause the next time I do fluid a change I am hoping to swap the cover for a lpw one 8)

As for the seized control arm bolts seems alot of people have trouble with them, and so far every single one of those people used a sawzall on each side of the bushing to get the arm out so I'm going to pick up a sawzall from my cousin tonight and hit it sometime this weekend, it's great having a cousin that's a general contractor it's like my personal tool store but I have to return everything after!
