Hi Everybody!
I had a few G-bodies in my younger days - an 86 Cutlass Supreme and an 86 Grand Prix 2+2 Aerocoupe that I still hate myself for selling.
My new project is a 1979 Regal Limited V6. It was never supposed to be a project as I inherited it in 1991 and only drove it in the summer to car shows. Except that I parked it in a barn in New York in 2003 and moved to North Carolina, and just now picked it up. She's really not in awful shape. Obviously engine is going to need love as it hasn't even been cranked since 2003. Her once shiny white seats and baby blue dash panel are quite moldy, and the door panels and B-pillars are dried out and cracked, as the barn I left her in wasn't climate controlled. I also assume there is Jello in the fuel tank after sitting all this time. Since it's my fault she looks like she does, it's my responsibility to bring her back to life. I'm basically starting at the front end and working my way back a little at a time as money and time allow. I figure she sat for the last 10 years, so what's another 10 as long as I'm working on her?
It's been a long time since I've worked on a G (I moved on to old Cadillacs in the 90s), and I'm pretty far behind on the availability of things. Looking forward to reading everything this forum has to offer.
