yeah, that looks exactly like what i want as far as paint. im going for the monochromatic all black look. i havent come across that one yet though so thanks for posting it. the rust thing kind of sucks, but i think thats all there is, the couple places i posted and the battery tray and core support, which is how i met you, looking for a core support..LOL. it looks worse than it is though, shouldnt be to hard to fix i dont think. i been wanting to buy a sandblaster and mig welder anyways, so i guess i really have a reason now. i have a little experience with body work and it doesnt have to look like a pro job since its hidden for the most part. im afraid the dash is gonna have to come out though, i had wanted to avoid pulling it if possible. i just cant believe some ******* packed the dam thing with newspaper and bondod over it
it looks like some college student put a hole in theyre wall and tried to fix it, im surprised they used bondo and not drywall compound. speaking of texas projects, when i was 14 or so my nieghbor started buying the old chevy trucks, the 66-68 style, and parting them out. we lived in ohio, he had a bro in texas and he was a truck driver, his route was from ohio to cali. he would take a load out to cali, and stop by texas on the way home and load up all the trucks his bro would locate for him and bring them back to ohio. once he got them back hed strip them down, sandblast the body parts and prime them and sell all the parts mail order for restorations. i used to hang around the shop and help him out. everything he brought back was always really clean. he used to throw me a few bucks whever i needed it and he gave me a really nice 327 with 68,000 original miles on it, a couple 307's and some other parts for my junk rod projects, plus i got to tag along all expense paid to all the shows he went to as a vendor. pretty much every event in ohio, indiana, michigan, and pennsylvania including the hershey show. i always had a blast, and for a 14 yr old from a tiny farm town in the middle of buttscratch ohio with nothing else to do who loved cars it was a dream come true. id have done it totally for free.
