Hey rodney, did you re-use the steel you cut off the frame rail or did you cut a new piece from new steel? Either way the work you're doing looks great. Keep up the good work!

Good progress and pictures. Love how the paint turned out!

I reused the piece that I cut out. This frame notch literally cost me about 3 cut off wheels, and 3 sawzall blades. Plus the welding wire and gas. I do need to still cap the ends, but other then that I used no other "new" steel.

Got quite a bit of work done today. Started on bracing the frame for the max frame notch. I have two diagonal bars to add still, and a few in the front section, then get to cutting! I also got the final welding done on the brackets for the rear, and plan to go pick up the fixture from a buddy tomorrow to weld the ends on. THEN the rear housing is DONE! Finally!!

I tossed it in there quick just for mock up purposes, and also turned spacers for the bottom coil over mounts.

Alright, got quite a bit more work done on the car here the last week or so. I got the rear end finished up, bearings ends welded on, and housing painted. Also got some more bracing installed and started cutting on the max notch. I got both sides cut, just need some grinder work now and a little bit more welding. Then on to boxing the frame rails, and installing the ARB and the frame is done fabrication wise.

Alright got the max notch all finished up today, everything ground flush and the frame capped where I cut it. Also tossed the stock rear under there to get an idea of the clearance. The 9 inch is narrowed 1 inch per side, so it looks like it will work awesome!!

It looks great. But, if you are into it this far why not just go with tube frame rails vs. a skin of the factory rail? It would look cleaner and be stronger. The way it is now you will need some gussets on the inside of the rail skin to the bracing you've added.

Because the factory inner frame rail needs to remain where its at, in the factory location. "stock suspension" I am thinking of adding a tube bent to the same shape as the wheel arch, to the inside of the skin.

Alright, got both of the tubs cut, fitted and welded in. Still have to do some fitting on the lower portion of the passenger side tub, and a little more welding there, then seam seal it. Drivers side is done.

Hoping to get back out in the shop Sunday and finish up the tubs and get the trunk floor filler piece made and installed.
