I'm stopping by the wrecking yard tomorrow to find some damaged fenders I can pick up cheap to use for patches.

That's a great idea. I can't believe I didn't think of it already. I've got access to lots of damaged body panels to cut patches from. I guess that could be a cheap way for me to be able to make patches for my Monte Carlo when I get to the body work.
 
just marathon-ed through the thread, I think I started reading it when you first started, and somehow never got back to it... glad you're still on it, as I know how a "while I'm in here" project can snowball into "I'll get around to it later" project (my regal has been a project for 12 years now, and hasn't gotten anything done in the last 2 years...).

love how the bike turned out, and like you, I have an affinity for the 70's F series trucks... I think they're the best looking trucks other than the 53-56 f-1's and the 55-58 chevy's.. wish I still had my '79, but sold it to a friend about 10 years ago, and it's led a better life than what I gave it...
