I'm not sure if this really a "build" thread... more like a clean her up and get her back on the road thread.

I picked up this '83 Hurst/Olds last month from a co-worker. It was his high school car and had been sitting in his backyard since 1999. He was in an accident back then and parked it rather than fixing it. He finally decided to sell and since I'm the 'car guy' at work he came to me first. The rest is history.

This is the day of delivery...

This past weekend I checked all the fluids, put in some fresh gas and a battery and fired up the 307. It was running a little rough and smokey for the first minute but leveled out and cleared up. Runs very nice! Sounds killer! Went through the gears and the trans seems to be good. Makes me a happy man... :D

My short term plans are to fix the body damage, re-paint the black and start driving her... I have the stock rallys so I'll be putting those back on as soon as I find some RWL tires. I'll put all my updates on this thread.

Very nice. Good luck with your "build". Great group of people on here , you'll get all the help you want. Mark ( also an 83 owner #1028 )

Thanks Mark! I'm still waiting to see what numbers mine is. I registered it and the Hurst/Olds Registry site. No numbers yet.

She's dirty but here's a quick pic of the 'new' fender on. Searching for a front bumper now so I can install the plastic pieces.

Jumped on the parts hotline and located a tail light. A little sanding, etching primer and black paint... on the car.
