1984 Cutlass master cylinder/brake problem

I drove the car around for a while then let it sit on some cardboard while i was at work. When I came out I found the leak along the drivers side frame under the door going to the rear brakes.


I thought you said you checked the lines...but it's good you found the problem. When you head out to buy a new brake line take a look at cunifer brake line. It's easy to bend and it does not corrode. Don't loose the fitting on the brake line that goes into the proportioning valve cause they are hard to find, at least I could never find one.

I had the rear line on my Cutlass leak in the same place. Very common on g-bodies I think. As mentioned above the job is much easier if you use bendable brake line. Another company that makes the stuff is called AGS Poly-Armour. Advance Auto Parts in my area keeps this stuff in stock.
