This was my first major project that I was involved in when I came to the shop I work at. We built this car for Linginfelter Perforamnce and Royal Purple. It was owned by RP's Vice president. We basically replaced any and all moving parts and kept the original turbo v6. It was my first SEMA vehicle and it was also my first experience with a G-body. Sorry for fuzzy pictures as this was my very old phone. The car was featured on Power Nation and last I knew this car sold at Mecum for almost $90k https://www.mecum.com/lots/SC0516-243333/1986-buick-grand-national/

Looks sooooooooo much better without those hideous stripes! Wouldn't drop 90 Large on it, though.
We have no idea how it sold for that much in all honesty. It was great car with $35k worth of parts alone but still not worth that.

If I remember correctly It ended up making 538hp and took 43rd out of 105 car in the 2014 Optima Challenge

The Optima Challenge is the motorsports equivalent of the Special Olympics.

I would have put a Mobil 1 oil cap on it for sh*ts and giggles. :)

That's a pretty cool build, must have been fun to be involved with that. What are the details on the exhaust upgrade? I wish that I had that kind of money - ha :)

To be honest I'm unsure on the exhaust I believe it was upgraded to a 3" stainess but this was in 2014 and I have never seen it again.
