Yep, TH200C. You will also need to wire up a toggle switch or get a lock up kit. The TV cable needs some tension at idle and full pull at full throttle. Get one of the Ebay Olds V8 cheap HEI's. I picked up one from Skip White Performance. It was surprisingly well built for a $40 distributor. You want 38 to 40 base and mechanical and maximum vacuum advance off a manifold source. I would have gone with something other than the Edelbrock carb. Hopefully you didn't get one that can't be tuned no matter what is done.

I have the Edelbrock 1406 carburetor mounted on the stock manifold with a adapter will the transmission work without the lock up for now ? What will happen if I keep the orginal distributor on ?

As long as you not driving on the highway, you can live without lock up. As said, you time it at the base 20 degrees, it will stay at 20 degrees, nearly 40 degrees less than you should have at part throttle.

Will this lock up kit work? Do you have a link to the distributor I would need thanks for all the information41398F74-6BBB-45FE-A696-61FE265FDF51.png

Why did you replace the Q-jet carb in the first place without knowing what all the pros and cons were? You may have been better off spending the money on rebuilding your original carb or finding another Qjet replacement. E-brocks have a tendency not to work out without spending a lot more money elsewhere.

My prediction is while you may eventually get this setup to work, you're going to have many small, and hopefully no large, setbacks. Sorry to be a negative nelly, but I've seen too much money wasted on 307s by just ripping off stuff that got in the way without understanding how it will affect things. Anyway, never mind me. Good luck with this.

Assuming the old Qjet was worn out? Even modifying the secondaries to match the 5L HO would have made a performance difference. The Vin Y carb is restricted in opening on the secondaries and has ridiculously lean secondary rods. At least your mileage will be in the toilet with the Edelbrock.

Put original carb back on with all the emissions gizmos hooked up too. If you don't understand how all these things work and interact with one another it should be left alone until you accumulate more knowledge on the subject ( aka GM service manual ). After understanding and knowing what you're getting into, then you may determine what you want to do.
