There's no "was said to have prototyped" about it. The W-43 motor was not only developed but was slated for production in 1970 until GM brass killed all performance work to concentrate on emissions compliance. Both the pushrod and DOHC versions of this motor are on display at the R.E. Olds museum in Lansing, MI.
