2 stroke spark plug question

Resurrecting this thread for a quick follow up question. Since this plug is for a large scale RC truck. A buddy recommended running the CR7HSA vs the C7HSA. He stated that using a plug with a resistor would help with potential interference to the trucks electronics. However I read on NGK's site that it can decrease spark output. What is everyone's thoughts on a resistor plug vs traditional?

First off, where is the vid of this nasty bastid?
2: I thought NGK' s R meant "race", but it depends on how it's arranged. They have a chart that breaks it all down.
I would think that the wire is short enough for ignition noise to be negligible.

Thanks to good ol' Covid, my truck kit has not arrived yet. Was suppose to see it end of last month...it should now be here in a couple weeks. I'm just finalizing getting all my extras together for it. I checked NGK code chart and it shows R as resistor as seen in this pic below. Prices are the same really for each plug. So suppose I could try with and without, just dont want to potentially cause issues using a resistor plug. I know almost nothing about resistor plugs other then the mixed info I have read on the interwebs so not sure of its impacts.NGK_Plug_Chart_1.jpg

Yes R is resistor. You may, or may not, be able to run resistor plug.... LOL you won't be able to tell any appreciable difference between the two, and the interference the non resistor puts out may give you radio control issues.... Personally I would run the resistor plug.

I say get both and try them out. Worst case is you’re out a couple bucks on a plug that won’t work. You’ll break more expensive parts on the raminator the first time you jump it😀😀. What other RCs do you have?

I’ve become addicted to speed. Picked this guy up a couple weeks ago. Replacement tires don’t drop for another month so I’m done with smoky burnouts and drifts for now unless I want to shell out $100+ for a set of takeoffs on eBay (and I don’t).

Had some fun last summer with this guy too. Caught air at 75ish and smacked a pontoon boat. Guess I forgot about the whole no brakes thing on water.....

Ok, I’m done hijacking now!

Superbon54 nice Felony! My brother has the Infraction. Close to that same platform but the truck version. He smokes his Hoons like crazy lol! In my current collection we have 2 Tamiya Lunchboxes, 2 Traxxas Stampedes, and 2 fully built Traxxas E Revo 2.0s. One is built as a basher and thing is darn near indestructible, other built and geared as my on road speed beast. Keeps up very well with the Infraction. I flew RC helicopters for a long while as well. My go to bird was my Trex 600N. However all our local hobby shops closed and now the nearest one is literally a 3 hour drive a way. So paying to have nitro shipped with hazmat fees was getting old. I blew my OS 55 motor in her and opted to just sell her and cut my losses. Also used to fly Trex 500 and Trex 700 as well. My Primal Raminator "should" be my last RC for a while, as that is getting me into the gas RC big boy game lol! Until I possibly grab one of the Traxxas 6s boats. 🤣

Nice stable of vehicles!! How do you like the lunchbox trucks? My son really wants to get one. The kids also want to get into helicopters too.

I love my Lunchboxes! Its all about nostalgia to me. I had my first real RC when I was 10. It was a Lunchbox kit I got for Christmas. I built it with my dad back in 1990. After tons of RCs later. I found myself wanting it again. Bought two kits, I built the yellow one, my girlfriend built and drives the white one. They are a blast. Easy to build and work on to get basic understanding of how things work, pretty tough for the most part and fun to drive. I am glad I added them back to my fleet. The Stampedes are a blast too. You can get them RTR out of the box truck, battery, charger and transmitter for $200ish. They are very tough, faster then the lunchboxes and easy to work on. They are drivin and maintained by my 13 year old daughter and I.
As for helicopters...that is a whole another level. I started with a basic bind and fly coaxial bound to a Spektrum Dx7. Learned basic orientation, flight controls and such then went to a real heli. I also put in a good amount of simulator time on my Phoenix Flight sim. Do this on the transmitter you will fly with..NOT the crappy one you can get with sims. I then progressed to the Trex 500. Learned to truly fly with this machine. Its a good kit to build and learn on. Big enough to be super stable in flight, but not too big. Better then a 450 size by far. Then went to a Trex 700. Was way to big for me. Scared me flying it as it was huge and crash costs could be insane. Traded it for my Trex 600N. And that was my go to. Perfect size, tons of power, flips, rolls, inverted flight, you name it. Helicopters are very cool, but it is very expensive to get into them, especially during the learning curve. Lol. PM me if you need any more info. I love talking RC!
